Van will just quit without warning while driving! this has occurred 5X now... last time we came approx. 20 feet from going off of the side of mountain! vehicle is still not repaired and almost 350 miles from home! Chrysler has been contacted and will not do anything about it! we are being forced to seek legal council at this time!

The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler Town and country. The contact was driving at an unknown speed when the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the detent package was replaced and the power train control was reprogrammed. The failure recurred several times. Later, while the contact attempted to brake, the vehicle responded slowly and the brake pedal was depressed into the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to dealer where the front brake pads and rotors were inspected and replaced. The front and rear brakes were found to be worn and warped. The manufacturer was made aware of failure however no further assistance was provided. The current mileage was 29,800 and the approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

Front brakes had to be replaced at 9,000 miles. Chrysler sent letter stating they were covering front brakes for an extended period ( not exactly sure how long). Now at 15,500 miles I need front brakes done again and had rear brakes done at 15,500 miles which I had to pay for because they were only covering for 12,000 miles. Have been told there is no recall, they are just helping those customers with issues. Having issues dealing with Chrysler and the dealership.

The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph and applying the brakes, the brakes begin to pulsate abnormally, increasing stopping distance. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The test results determined that the brakes and rotors were faulty. The dealer advised having the rotors turned and not replaced. The contact did not call the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 22,517.

My van has been shaking upon braking and recently has begun making a rubbing noise. When taken in for a brake inspection they said that my rear brakes and rotors already need replaced and that it was uncommon for newer vehicles with 30,000 miles on it to need replacements and that I should check to see if it has been recalled. It has not been, however, I have noticed numerous complaints that it's happening to many owners. I love my van, and would love for Chrysler to step up and replace the faulty brake system.

A few months ago a squeaking noise began on the right side of the vehicle. At the end of March I took the vehicle to the dearlership to have the squeak looked at as well as have the front brakes and rotors replaced (at the time the vehicles mileage was 22,160). Service advisor reported that the squeaking was likely the result of the rear brakes and was not uncommon. The squeak has continued. Set up another appointment for May 17th to have the vehicle inspected again. Service advisor advised that the squeaking issue is indeed still the rear brakes, they are not bad and the pads are half gone but does not recommend that they need to be replaced at this time. As of June 19th, the squeak continues and at times get's worse. What I don't understand is why the brakes squeak when I am not even pressing on the brake pedal. Chrysler replaced the front brakes, why are they not replacing the rear brakes which obviously had more wear and tear due to the front brake issue they did address. Chrysler needs to admit fault on this issue as well.

Have had T&C 2010 van for 2 years - our 11th Chrysler product and our 3rd Chrysler van. How many complaints does it take on this site before Chrysler is aware of a problem with rear brakes & rotors" I have registered a complaint with them - less than 39,000 miles for metal on metal - replacement of pads & rotors - not able to even turn the rotors they were that bad. Chrysler's answer? sorry we can't reimburse you - I wasn't looking for $$ - I was looking for an answer as to why this happened & what is to prevent it from happening in another 20K or 30K? I asked for someone higher up - she said she was the case mgr. I asked for the CEO's name - she couldn't give it out - seriously? I said I'd get it on line. We have a 2005 sebring that just had its first set of front & rear pads and rotors at 105,000 miles - same driving conditions - country roads and an occasional trip to Chicago. So why is this happening to our van? there is a problem but Chrysler won't admit it is using cheap parts. Does it only concern them when there is an injury or death? is this not a safety issue if the brakes fail? I don't blame the dealer - they are the stooges and do what Chrysler tells them. And now they are discontinuing the Town & Country and will only have the Grand Caravan - why is that? let's hope they put better brake systems on them from here on out. Is there anyway we can all band together and get some answers????" we don't have $400 to keep shelling out - while we are trying to pay off this van. But I see we are lucky compared to other folks with problems even sooner. This is a disgrace and Chrysler should own up to a serious problem.
