My Chrysler Town & Country 2010 I have owned for a year. 3 months ago it started acting like a posed van. It happens 1 out of every 3 times I drive it. The warning lights for traction flickers the radio goes off and on. The speedometer and RPM turns off. Then sometimes it will come back on. At night if this occurs the lights will go off and on. It turns off on me sometimes and like everyone else power steering and brakes go out. The dealer I took it to says the ipdm unit needs replacing. Part# 4692305ai. He quoted me a price of 1400. When I refused he charged me 220 to get my car back. This should be a recall item.

Vehicle started having issues in 2014. Vehicle just would not crank one morning. Got a jump start and took it to autozone and got a new battery. About 3 months later the same thing happened. Got a jump start, went to autozone and they found nothing wrong with battery, alternator or starter. Autozone gave me a new battery anyway. About 4 months later, happened again. Brought vehicle to Chrysler for win module recall fix and explained what was happening. They said handling the recall and a new battery should fix the problem. About 2 months later, had the same problem. Chrysler replace win module again and I got Chrysler to replace battery at this time as I explained that the battery was being affected due to the part that was being recalled. All was fine for about a year or so and then started happening again. Brought it back to Chrysler and they said battery had a dead cell. I explained that they had just put the battery in about a year ago and it should be under warranty. They told me, "we don't do warranty replacements on warranty replacements". so, I am just dealing with the battery right now. Most recently, about 3 months ago, dash board warning lights started all coming in at the same time. Then they would all go off and one side of the dash illumination would go out. Next start up, illumination would be fine again. This happened several times over a couple of months. Then, one day while driving, the power steering went out, the traction light came on and the vehicle shut off! was able to put vehicle in neutral and restart. This happened a few times in a month, but was always ok after one restart. Now, it keeps happening and only lasts a few minutes before needing to be restarted again. Afraid that this is going to happen while turning across oncoming traffic or in a situation where we can not pull over to safety and will get rear-ended.

Car horn honks intermittently; barely touch remote and horn honks; windows also roll down when key remote is turned upside down or in layng against something or in your hand trying to unlock doors. Also, when you try to open any other doors it will sometimes just honk and lock while not opening door. First thing that happened prior to that was the driver's side lock stopped unlocking all the doors. (when I have come out from work or church or a game, my windows have been down. The only place the remote was during that time was in my purse. Please help me resolve this situation. I replaced the battery to no avail, and I just ordered a new key remote. Thank you!

Wireless ignition node failure caused vehicle to shut off while driving on 3 different occasions. See 14V-373 aka Chrysler recall R03. Loss of power to braking and steering systems is a clearly dangerous malfunction. Other symptoms exhibited are failure to start in park but will in neutral and failure to shut off engine with key removed. Technician diagnosis points to defective win. The consumer stated the vehicle would not turn off using the key, failed to start, and stalls while driving.

My vehicle almost daily will stall out and die while in motion on roadways. The traction control light comes on, the power steering fails and the car dies. This has happened at any speed and often times multiple times a day. The radio and other components will remain on but I have to turn it off and pump it to get it to restart. The last couple of times there was a faint smell of wires burning. We have had it in to the dealer 3 times to this point and the answer is always the same. "no codes come up when we connect it". last week we were told to bring it back when it doesn't restart for us. Evidently a code will come up at that point. There will be a time when we are driving in a place where are only place to bail out is in the grass or popping a curb to avoid getting hit from behind. The moving to neutral and trying to restart is not working for either my wife or I. I have seen hundreds of forums that list this as a current complaint with this year range of Town and country's. this is clearly the most reported T&C isssue going on now. We need a solution before someone is seriously injured.

Randomly loses power, sometimes a split second, other times a complete shut down and doesn't let key go. Sometimes it causes things to stop working, like cruise control. More often when lights are on and other things used, like A/C or turn signals. Sometimes when only lights are used, and sometimes lights not even on.

Engine shuts off while in motion in drive mode. This happens at any rate of speed, 70 mph to 10 mph, in good weather conditions, on the highway and local streets, driving straight or turning slightly. The ABS module tested bad 9 months ago and was replaced by auto electric specialists of houston. This did not solve the problem. I have not had the ECM replaced. My Chrysler dealership cannot find the problem and has told me to keep driving and to bring the car in right away if the issue happens again. The car scares me!!! it has shut off three times now in the last year. I wonder if this is the same problem that has now been reported with the 2017 Chrysler pacifica?

On many different occasions, my 2010 Chrysler Town and country will shut off while driving. All of the warning lights illuminate on my dashboard, the power steering shuts off, and the engine shuts off. I must coast to the side of the road, without power steering, and turn the key to the off position. Then, I must restart the vehicle. It always restarts, but this happens about once every 2 weeks. After reading the recall details of the 2017 Chrysler pacificas, the description of the problem matches the problems I am having. My mechanic has inspected my van, but he cannot diagnose any problem unless he, himself, experiences and witnesses the stalling occur. Problem happens while in motion. It has happened slowly in a parking lot, and it has happened at 55 mph on a highway.

On multiple occasions over the last almost 3 years we've had issues with our vehicle dying when stopped or parked. It began in December 2014. We purchased the vehicle in August 2014. While driving to Florida from Michigan our check engine light came on. Then it turned off so we figured that the bulb was loose or something and we'd get it checked when we got back from vacation. On the way back the same thing happened with the check engine light coming on, going off but then it came back on and didn't turn off. Then the vehicle starts dying when we're stopped or parked. We're obviously concerned! I had to get an oil change after driving that far anyway so I brought it in. The said that the code was for a misfiring piston and I needed to take it into the shop right away. So I immediately drive it over to the dealership shop. They have it for a few days and tell me that nothing is wrong, the vehicle just needs a tune up and new wires, even though it doesn't even have 90K miles on it. They were going to charge us $700. We had my husband's cousin do it instead because he is a mechanic and doesn't charge us for labor. The problem doesn't go away. They tell us the cam shaft sensor is bad. We replace it. Doesn't fix it. They tell us the crank sensor is bad. We replace it. And on and on our goes with us replacing things and the dealership being unable to recreate the issue. For the years we've been dealing with that and a vehicle that cannot smoothly accelerate. It is impossible to quickly get up to speed and merge onto the highest because the vehicle bucks and shakes if you try to accelerate quickly to get up to speed. Then the check engine light flashes, traction control light comes on and a bell starts to ding until we pull over, shut off the vehicle and restart it. Nobody can tell us what is wrong and when the codes are scanned it doesn't match any code that Chrysler has.

The last two days in a row, my van has shut off while I was in the first 2 minutes of driving it in the morning, going about 25 miles an hour in a residential neighborhood. The first time it happened right after I turned right at a stopped sign. The second time I had just gone over a speed hump (slowly). The engine totally shut down while still in drive. I braked (without power) to a stop, put the van in park, turned the key off, and then restarted the van. No problems after restart. Restarted just fine. But this has happened two days in a row. This seems like it could be extremely dangerous!

The vehicle will intermittently start/not start. We have replaced the battery, and the starter. But the problem still persists. We have towed the vehicle to the dealership and they are unable to diagnose the problem. We have been stranded numerous times by our vehicle that is temperamental when it is time to start. When turning the ignition the starter clicks once and then is silent. All electrical in the car still works, but the engine never turns over. The alternator, starter, and battery have all been diagnostically checked and are in working order. We have experienced this problem for over 1 1/2 years, however it has become more frequent in recent days.

The Town and country have had known electrical issues but are currently no recalls. Driving down the road the vehicle will lose power to interior and exterior lights, ac/heat, radio, door locks, power windows, etc. The transmission will also throw itself into neutral. I have spoken to 3 auto shops in the last month and they have said they have seen this issue with Town and country vans over the last year or so. My van currently has 137K miles on it.

I purchased this car two years ago with a limited mile warranty. A month later the ignition module went, we are constantly taking the car to have breaks front and back and rotors repaired every month on the vehicle. We were given a false carfax report as well. If that wasn't enough there was a faulty spark plug which cost me $800 to remove the head gasket to replace the plugs that were never replaced and had dry rotted. This occurred in July of 2017 after I spent 3K in rental cars to get to and from work. On 8/4/2017 the thermostat blew which cost $200 to repair now the catalyct converter is gone and on 8/5/2017 the car was acting possessed. I came outside side to start the vehicle and noticed the windshield wipers were going off and the car smelt as if it were burning. They keys were not in the vehicle. I need help I have a family size of 6 with small children that ride in this unsafe vehicle every day. It is our only means of transportation to and from work and additionally I pay a monthly car payment of $410 not including insurance.
