Biggest mistake of my life was buying this lemon. I should have known better buying a Chrysler product but it was what the wife wanted for the kids. this transmission is embarrassing to say the least...especially when friends are in it. It clunks when taking out of park so hard, I'm waiting for it to just die so I can be done with it. Also, the down shifting when approaching a stop sign or light and it feels and sounds like we hit a 3ft pothole. We have brought it to the dealer numerous times for so many other issues as well as the tranny, but they keep saying they cant find anything. Are you kidding me Chrysler???? Do something about this inferior joke you call a luxury van, stand by your product and do the right thing, and recall this piece of $#it and stop wasting my families valuable time.........NEVER AGAIN!

Town & Country Touring 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 24,000 miles

This has been the worst vehicle I have ever purchased. I took it in at 22,000 miles because it shifted like a dump truck. They replaced some valve body assembly and reprogrammed it, lasted 150 miles and still shifts like #%$#. 32,000 thousand dollar mistake, this company has not done the right thing and recalled this transmission. This was my first and last Chrysler. This is my 3 year nightmare.

Town & Country Touring 4.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles

My wife and I bought this vehicle new in march of 2010,we have had a lot of problems with the transmission in this vehicle. it started with erratic up-shifts and downshifts, and now it is also banging when you shift from reverse to drive at times. we had the ignition switch replaced by recall and it is worse than the original switch. Also I have had the front brake rotors replaced twice for warping, and they are doing it again with only 24,000 miles on the vehicle The last time I had the vehicle in for warranty, I complained to the service director about he transmission, and he informed me that Chrysler knows they have problems with the transmissions, but they have no fix for it.I am going to call the Chrysler complaint line, but it probably will be a waste of time. What we need is a class action lawsuit against Chrysler.I would sure jump on board. This will be my last Chrysler

Town & Country

  • Automatic transmission
  • 26,214 miles

After taking the car in one time to date (6/11/2011), I have been testing the issue and seem to have it narrowed down to a downshifting problem from third gear to second. It occurs when slowing down (to make a turn, traffic light, slowing traffic, etc.) and then I accelerate to increase speed. It is a very noticable jerk that can cause conversation to cease and passengers to look at me and say "what was that?" It is not a smooth shift down to second but a jerking motion and very audible "clunking" noise. The one visit to the dealer resulted in their "updating the transmission software", and declaring that they could find no issue with the transmission. The service was don 4/27/2011 and the problem continues and at times seems worse. I am waiting for the transmission to jerk and seize. Then Chrysler will have no excuse and will fix the problem.
