Both power sliding doors are malfunctioning. The will not close when using the remote on the key fob or the buttons inside the cabin. There is also no visual (lights) or sound signal alerting us to the failure of the door operation. The door remained open after passengers exiting the vehicle while in public parking lots and at our residence. Intermittently the power sliding doors stop working at all and do not open all the way and get stuck half way opened causing a safety hazard for my family members.

Our van just stops running when driving. This causes the power steering and brakes to stop working, no warning at all anything is happening. This has happened several times in the last three days. I coasted to side of road once. I almost rear-ended and was almost rear-ended in same incident today due to sudden shut off. I fear for my life and family safety. I have a son who travels in a wheelchair in the vehicle and our only transportation. My son cannot go to school now as he has no transportation to get there since this is his wheelchair van. He cannot ride in a regular vehicle, he must ride in his powerchair due to mobility and specialized seating. Two weeks ago, vehicle acted like we didn't have traction and wheels locked up. That has happened several times. Then two days before the stop running started the traction control light came on but it was perfectly normal driving situations. Light turned off after car was turned off and hasn't come back on. No warning lights or other alerts have come on in van. Very costly, TIPM system was replaced November 2020 due to issues with vehicle power issues on not starting fully and loosing power.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" While driving the entire engine and system shut off. All powered functions ceased and i was left to pull over with no power steering, the brakes didn't respond as well, signals weren't working either. Once pulled over I was able to restart the car with no issue, but the vehicle has continued to randomly lose all power, it seems to occur more frequently when when braking or slowing down. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? It was put at great risk as the car could have lost control and i was at limited capacity to correct with no engine power or other powered functions. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear" No warning.

Over a year ago, we began to have a problem in which the vehicle would, on occasion, not start. The -€œcheck engine-€ light would come on, along with another icon that looked like a lightning bolt between two inverted parentheses. Sometimes it started up on the first try, other times it would take a few attempts, and sometimes it would not start at all. Then a new wrinkle emerged: the van conked out on us a few times while on the road -- once while merging onto a highway. We now had a serious (and potentially dangerous) problem on our hands. We had the fuel pump replaced, but the problem persisted. I took the van to our local Chrysler dealership to have them figure it out. They replaced the throttle body and cleaned the fuel injectors and fuel system. I drove the car home without incident, but the following morning, I tried to start it, and the same old situation emerged -€" the engine cranked but never turned over. I then had it towed back to the dealer for another round of diagnostics. I mentioned that I had seen on the Internet about a possible faulty Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM), an issue in various Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram products. Later they called saying the battery was the problem (even though they earlier reported that the battery was okay), and had nothing to do with the TIPM. For about a week, the van is started up without a hitch, but then same old hesitating-before-starting situation reared its ugly head, albeit briefly. It is only a matter of time before it stalls out again in traffic. These vehicles should be recalled and the TIPM needs to be replaced.

My Chrysler Town and Country has serious electrical issues. It started with the radio shutting off and restarting by itself, which is not a serious issue at all. But yesterday, at a red light, the radio shut off and so did the car. The engine stopped working, the accelerator pedal would not respond. It was terrifying. Thankfully we were at a red light, but if this were to happen on a busy highway, or even just on a regular street with traffic, it could be a life threatening situation. From what I have researched online, this is a common problem with Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge cars. Legal action has been taken and class action lawsuits were filed to address this matter. The Center for Auto Safety (CAS) asked this very own NHTSA to open an investigation into faulty TIPM, which seem to be the problem that causes these cars to very dangerously completely shut off even while driving, causing drivers to lose control of the steering and of the brakes. The CAS estimated 7 million Chrysler vehicles have power issues related to the TIPM. One month after receiving a class action lawsuit, Chrysler issued a recall for 189.000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee with bad TIPMS. 189.000. Out of SEVEN MILLION. This is absurd. It seems as if Chrysler is waiting for someone to be killed due to this issue so they can take it seriously and actually issue the recall to all the cars that have this problem, not a tiny fraction of them and not only because it is directly related to a lawsuit. Unfortunately, despite multiple claims throughout the years that not only this is a common problem with Chrysler, but that the corporation is well aware of it and negligently refuses to address the issues, the NHTSA rejected the CAS petition to investigate this problem. Proof is definitely not amiss, as a quick internet research will produce thousands upon thousands of reports of the same problem on the same car. This needs to be a recall URGENTLY, and not only after someone dies.

The rear passenger sliding door lock actuator has failed. There is a loud buzzing noise when the door unlocks. I was told eventually the lock will fail entirely which is a huge safety risk. There would be the potential for someone to steal the car or worse.

On multiple occasions while driving, the vehicle has simply powered itself off without warning. In addition to the engine cutting off, all interior features and lights also lose power. To restart the vehicle, you must remove the key from the ignition, put the car in park, and then put the key back in with your foot on the brake. This is incredibly dangerous. Diagnostic error codes do not capture the cause of the issue.

On occasion at least four different times in the past two months, my vehicle has completely shut off while I am driving it. In an instant, a warning comes on my dash that has a lightening bolt, the engine and all electrical/power shuts off, the wheel locks, and I am only able to brake. I have taken it to the dealership where they charged me $100 to find what the issue was, even though unsuccessful. They said because the vehicle showed no codes, they didn-€™t know the reason for the malfunction, and sent me home. I called Chrysler Recall and they said because there are no open recalls, they are unable to help me. When searching online, I see a lot of people have had this exact same issue but no one helps them fix it. Lawsuits have emerged. Accidents have happened. I have three small children who rely on me and my vehicle. It is completely unsafe for us to drive and for others around us on the road. No one will help diagnose or fix the problem. I need help fast! Please help me.

The vans power would flicker on and off multiple times. The windshield wipers would turn on and off. The radio on and off. All dash lights on and off. Then driving 26mph one day it did this and the whole engine shut off with the keys in the ignition while driving. I lost all power, power steering, and brakes! battery was replaced and the issues kept getting worse.

While driving on the interstate when I lifted my foot off of the gas pedal it started to jerk on me, the check engine light stays on and the ABS light will stay on, it also stalls at randum anytime while driving, every 2 to 3 years I have to have the brakes and the rotors redone, I had the camshaft sensor replaced and was told that they found metal fragments on the sensor I even saw it and was told that that usually tells them that this is a timing problem and could be the problem for stalling and if that doesn't work then it will be the engine, the timing problem will cost around $2000 along with the cost of the engine if its not the timing, then there is a evaporator core problem that is costly, there is a manifold gasket leak also another $1000, I've always done the service repairs but this is all to costly hate to dump it but now I'm thinking of a different vehicle and not another town N country, will never buy again

Van periodically stalls when driving (no warning lights come on), luckily it has been on local roads and not an interstate. It has happened at least 6-7 times in the last six months. I've had it in twice to our regular shop. They replaced the battery first, and then suggested we take to the dealer (as they had recently sent a durago to dealer for same problem). Dealer replaced ther, ostat and promised that was the problem. Still doing it. I'm afraid to drive this vehicle, it's not safe! searches have revealed many consumers with the same problem. It last happened 3/22/21.

The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, instrument panel illuminated as the vehicle was turned on however, the vehicle failed to start. The contact attempted to start the vehicle several times using the push to start and manual start feature however, the vehicle failed to start. The contact had the vehicle towed to South oak Jeep Dodge Ram Chrysler (4550 Lincoln hwy, matteson, il 60443, (708) 747-7950) who were unable to identify the cause of the failure. The dealer started the vehicle and the contact drove the vehicle to the residence. The vehicle failed to start the following three days. The contact had the vehicle towed back to the same dealer who was then unable to restart the vehicle or identify the cause of the failure. The dealer informed the contact that at times the fuel pump seemed to be running without the vehicle being turned on. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 97,000.

Vehicle shuts off while key is in the run position.this has happened multiple times.there are no special circumstances when it happens.it may happen when starting or shifting into gear.it has happened while driving both in city and country driving.while driving all systems shut off including the headlights, power steering, power brakes etc... this has happened to me while driving at night just as I was approaching a corner.it also is a hazard to oncoming traffic as the vehicle goes dark and would be hard to see.if you hold in on the key sometimes the vehicle restarts on its own if you are still moving sometimes it doesn't.if you hold in on the key the vehicle will continue to run fine.it doesn't matter if you are holding speed accelerating, turning, or going straight.this is definitely a problem with the ignition switch which should be replaced however research has made me decide this is not just a single vehicle problem so I am making an official complaint out of fear of injury to the public.this style switch should be recalled in my opinion.thank you for your time.

The electrical and engine shut off more than a dozen times over several months, summer, fall and winter, while I was driving in city traffic, with no other known correlations. All electrical systems and power steering and power brakes also ceased to function. This necessitated my placing the transmission into neutral to reengage the ignition, which immediately restarted the engine.. perhaps also related: After overnight, immediately after engaging the ignition, starter and briefly the engine, the engine shut off when I released the ignition switch. This happened several times in a row. Only recently has this problem first occurred duurinh the several years we have had the car. Only after I engaging the gas pedal while engaging the ignition and increasing the rpms did the engine begin to function normally. This has happened several days when the temperature was about 30F.

While driving my van, especially at speeds of 20-30 miles per hour, shuts off, leaving me with no electric brakes or steering, no acceleration, nothing. This has been happening intermittently for a couple years. The mechanics at aaa have trouble recreating the problem. About 14 months ago they replaced the tipm. The electronic aspects of the van were haywire, dash lights flashing, born blaring etc. This is also occurring again but the tipm isn't the issue according to aaa. It is terrifying to drive and unexpectedly have the engine shut off. I have diminished ability to safely steer and brake in these instances. This happens when going straight as well as when turning. The horn going crazy has happened when the vehicle shuts off.

The car was purchased new in 2012. As of today the actual mileage on the car is only 9,761. The original buyers of the car returned it to the dealer 5 times for no start or engine dying. The tipm was replaced under a recall on the second visit, but the other 4 times the dealer could not repair because they could not duplicate the symptoms. I recently purchased the car not knowing of the history. On the fourth start, engine would crank but not run. After the 6th attempt, it sprang to life. I drove it 60 milesto my home but would not start again. It appears to have a hard failure at last. The sellers are now in their 80S and were afraid to drive it and be stranded. This is a true definition of a lemon. The car was to replace my Grand Caravan which has always been reliable.. after delivery of the car, I was given the full service history so I can verify what I said above. I am an engineer and a ase certified master mechanic.

One night 2 years ago I was driving my van. I drove it as usual on my daily routine. I went home and about 30 minutes of being home I went and got in my van and started it up and it started normally just as it always did. It ran for pry 3 to 5 seconds only and just died. I tried to start it back up and it would not start. Tried starting it for an hour and it would not start. That's when I researched and found out about the tipm problem that Dodge has. I never knew for sure until recently if that was indeed what the problem was. Until recently and only found out because I sold my house and had to get it moved out of my garage where my van sat since the day it died. I was not able to drive my van for pry over 2 years. My van is a 2013 and has about 80,000 miles on it. We are the only owner. After paying almost $40,000 for a brand new vehicle I definitely didnt think I would not be vehicle less anytime soon. Once my house was sold I had someone I knew come to try to get it started so I could move it. A guy looked at it for a couple days before he got it started. I was thrilled. That's when I knew it wasn't the fuel pump that went out. To get it started we had to hook the fuel pump up with a different wire that is ran to one of the cigarette lighter spots in the van. That was in September. That's how I've been driving my van since. Now the other day as I drove over a bridge my van just died. Reason is because the wire that is plugged into cigarette lighter to fuel pump got to hot and began melting inside the cigarette lighter plugin. The wires began to melt as well from being to hot. This is very dangerous as it can start a fire in someones vehicle. Someone can be killed because of this and it can be prevented if Dodge fixed all the vehicles with this same tipm instead of just some of the vehicles that the recall was for.
