The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that while her husband was reversing the vehicle out of a parking space, the driver-€™s side air bag was independently deployed without incident. The contact stated that a grayish-colored smoke was coming from underneath the steering wheel after the deployment. The contact initially called her insurance provider who referred her to a local dealer; the dealer then referred her to the manufacturer and a claim was filed. The vehicle was taken to Bakersfield Chrysler Jeep (3101 Cattle Dr, Bakersfield, CA 93313) where an inspector was sent from the manufacturer to investigate the failure. The contact then received an email from the manufacturer that stated that her claim was denied and that the failure was a result of normal wear and tear. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000.

The active head restrains (AHR) deployed without vehicle being involved in collision. This could have caused injury and even death if anyone was operating the vehicle while it deployed. No warning lamps are active, but the system is clearly deployed.

I was driving and heard a loud pop. Looked at my passenger seat and saw the head rest came off the plastic holding in airbag. The bag did not deploy as far as I can see. I was in motion when it popped. I called to see if dealership would fix but they want me to pay since there is no recall but I feel when it comes to safety it should be fixed with no charge to customer especially when it was a malfunction on car.

My car is a 2014 doge Avenger that has the occupancy restrain failure code. I have done some research and found out the GM put only a certain number of these cars on the recall list: However, my car was not placed on the list. Unfortunately for me, I am having that issue. I would like to ask if there is anything possible you could do to get my recall service by Dodge.

Between in the middle of September til now. I purchase this vehicle on a Monday with $500 down. 2014 dodger Avenger with 74K and bought the other$500. So in total $1000 down. And when I bought the car up to the dealership. It had to get expected, no receipt for it or nothing so I don't know what they had expected. Therefore, everything was good. I had to bring it back to dealership after I called them about the problem. I have paid two cars off and this is my worse experience I had with a vehicle I was driving. It was good while it last but the second time same thing happen first time. I would like to get my down payment back along with the notes I was paying. Thank you and god bless. This happened while car was in motion to were I would have had a little traffic behind me. Since Saturday night it's been parked and Monday 10/14/2019

The airbag light kept flashing on and off and eventually has stayed on. There's a connector with two wires that have separated due to constant in and out of the vehicle as used for. There are no current active airbags in the driver or passenger side seats due to this reason. Labor and part costs are more than income can handle; this is a safety issue that needs fixed.

Head rest has separated while not driving. Since the time it separated the airbag light in my car will not go off. I have not been able to reset it on my own and seems that it was not part of a recall that was an airbag issue with the Dodge Avenger identified in 2016. My car has not been in an accident, in good condition, but I have an airbag light on constantly and my headrest is "popped". this is not safe to have happening in ordinary driving conditions. This part should be recalled by Dodge. There are many complaints about this all over the internet for 2014 Avengers. People could get hurt. I have not had the part repaired by Dodge, but have been quoted upwards of $500 to fix a headrest! the headrest is what is setting my airbag light off and not knowing if my passenger will be protected is not comforting. Dodge needs to fix this issue. It was an issue for 2010-2013 models and that is no different for the 2014 models either.
