Challenger SRT-8 6.1L

Motor blew up, lost 3 cylinders. I went to see the SEMA show in 2006 in Las Vegas and wanted the "Number 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT-8" and when the motor went out, FCA fixed this problem, they replaced the motor (no longer numbered) and replaced the same heads, needless to say, the motor was replaced again. The Dealership tech and my personal mechanic both told FCA Rep that they needed to be replaced or repaired. Cost too much. Less then 10k, motor went again. I will fill out more, but want everyone to know that within less then 60k total, I had 3 new motors. Every oil change and every repair was done by dealerships.

Challenger SRT-8 6.1L

This time, FCA ordered that the motor be rebuilt that cost them (I seen) over $10k and the Challenger has today 80k, but the car does not have the power of a stock 6.1l HEMI and with all the Band Aid that FCA did.

I also want to talk about the 9 years that I have had it. Not one accident, oil changes at 2k with Mobil One 0-40. The 2008 Challenger SRT-8 is the first year out and I had two break light lens replaced (total clear lens came apart from red), the stereo went out, air bags just was replaced, fuel smell inside cabin, cruise control jumps as driving up hills on highway, struts had to be replaced at 45k, front breaks replaced 4 times, front seats wearing badly and I weight 177lb, the strips pealed after 4 years (this car has been garaged since 2008) turning left at high speeds (above 60mph) hear bad noises.

Since 2004, I have purchased 23 NEW Chryslers cars and trucks, with this being the only one with problems and I have had 9 SRT's. Personally, I believe that FCA Band Aided this car because of loyalty but it should have been replaced. I had this Challenger SRT-8 less the one week, back in 2008 and complained about a gas smell and its still their. And in that 23 new Chryslers, that does not include from 1971 Challenger R/T till 2003, that includes the old Ram Vans, exc.
