Well on my way to a tree removal job going about 45 mph on smooth slightly downhill road I've traveled for several years , all of a sudden without any warning at all my durango veers off to the right and I lose control miss a parked car by a few feet and land her in a ditch ....luckily my wife was trailing me and seen he whole incident and she'd a bit of light on what happened. Apparent that the driver side rear wheel just locked up without any rhyme or reason ...we'll great at least I wasn't on the interstate going 65mph which was my next turn a mile ahead. So unhurt and just a bit shaken I decide to try and get it out of ditch and on to the tree job and put it in reverse ...so farso good backed up 35ftor so no issue. Try now to put in drive and a loud thump it goes in drive push gas and it moves maybe a foot or two and same wheel stubborn and locks ...car won't move. Had to get a tow back home to try and figure it out. Have not found much help online other than it could be 100 things , I started with trying to replace rear drum set up but nothing has helped with that . Funny thing is in drive thf wheel locks car is immobile, but come to find if I throw it in low gear 1 it will move forward and wheel doses not lock but feels as vehicle is a bit sluggish or held back but if I go from low 1 to drive while moving same damn problem wheel locks car come to a screeching halt .....very dangerous and extremely frustrating as now I've missed out on several jobs due to well can't even get there PLEASE HELP What can it be????
