Where do l begin !!! We purchased our 2018 Dodge Durango GT , Dec of 2017 brand new with 11 miles on it. At around 4500 miles it started making a noise "CLANK" like worn out U joints and surging forward sensation, when you first started it, parking brake on and foot on the brake. Then the real fun began !

l was driving and had to make a sharp U turn, in the middle of my turn, it went into neutral, RPM's went up although the shifter was still in drive, and a message came up on the dash advising to stop and place the vehicle back into park !!!

l immediately took it to the dealer. They had no idea what was going on and even contacted Dodge engineers for direction and a solution. dodge advised to replace the transmission. We got our Durango back after approximately a week.and at 7000 miles or so surging upon startup, also a rattling noise like a loose heat shield and the going into neutral again " SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE !!! " Once again the transmission was replaced and reprogrammed.

This issue of the transmission going into neutral has happened while driving only at low speed ie backing out of our driveway, making a U turn, but most importantly while in a left hand turn lane my wife went to make her turn and it happened, thank goodness she was not all the way into the intersection ! Can you imagine having to put it back in park and back into drive while traffic is coming at you in the intersection ? This has happened 6-8 times even after the new transmissions.

At 9950 miles we took it back into the dealer for the same issue and now they stated they have reprogrammed the transmission and there was nothing else found !!! In the 6 months we have owned this Durango it has been at the dealer approximately a month for repairs ! Remember we bought it brand new. We have had multiple other issues that l will report on additional complaints.

Again imagine your wife being in a left hand turn with sufficient time to make the turn and BAM !!! her Durango goes into neutral and in order to correct the problem she has to put it in park and back into drive ! Meanwhile she was just T-Boned in the intersection !!!
