The vehicle experienced a problem with the air bag, there was a recall regarding the issue, # 02 V 293 000, however the vehicle identification number was not included.
Sometime within the past two weeks, the air bag light on the instrument panel lit up. The mechanic who usually works on our van (not at the dealership) informed us that there was a "technical service bulletin" concerning the "clock spring." I took the van to the dealer to have the air bag checked, & showed the service technician the service bulletin. The clock spring was, in fact, defective. We own a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan.
While traveling AT30-35 mph on gravel roads driver's and passenger's air bags deployed without any warning. Contacted dealer, and dealer was not willing to do anything.
While driving at 35 mph vehicle in front suddenly stopped and consumer rear ended the other vehicle. Front hood went under the other car, and none of the airbags deployed. Consumer has contacted dealer.
Reporting vehicle was involved in a frontail collision of a impact of 35-45 mph during braking, and both air bag did not deployed.dealer/mfr's notified. Please provide any further details:
