Vehicle stalls immediately after filling gas tank completely. I let pump turn off automatically and do not overfill. Has happened repeatedly in traffic and is dangerous. After a few miles, no more stalling or sputtering. Lots of reports of this problem with Dodge/Chrysler vehicles online but company claims no knowledge of problem. Fix is to replace fuel tank and attached parts.

I just completed filling up my vehicle with regular gasoline. About 100 yards from the filling station, my van stuttered and stalled. It does this every time I fill it up. It stalled in the middle of an intersection. I did some research and it looks like it is the result of a failed component of the emissions system and a pretty common problem with Chrysler/Dodge vans. community.cartalk.com/discussion/2137227/engine-dies-after-gasoline-fill-up.

I went to get my oil changed and there was about 1/10th of a quart drained out. The engine oil light never came on. Since then we have had to add a quart every 1,000 miles. This is uncalled for and have noticed on this site and on the web others have the same problem.

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact attempted to start the ignition three times and the engine immediately stalled. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. The vehicle continued to remain at the dealer for further investigation where the contact was awaiting a diagnosis of the failure. The manufacturer was also notified of the problem. In addition, the wiring to the dome light was faulty which caused the dome light to melt two years prior to the most recent failure. The manufacturer had not been notified. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.....updated 08-24-12 the consumer stated when the vehicle's engine turned off the instrument cluster remained illuminated. The radio switches stations, turns on the cd player, and switches between am/fm. The dealership acknowledged there is an electrical problem but, cannot find the problem. Updated 08/30/2012

Recurring issue of engine stalling after refueling. Usually within 5 minutes of filling, and when driving slowly. Internet search indicates this is a rampant problem, not only with Caravan, but with other Chrysler/Dodge vehicles. Apparently the entire gas tank requires replacement, which indicates to me it is a design flaw and should be recalled.
