Took the lines off the heater core and back flushed the core because there was no heat. After flushing the core I was once again able to get heat. 1 week later the blend door broke and now no heat or A/C and the smell of antifreeze in the cab.

I took my 2002 dodge ram 1500 to the local mechanic to have the A/C recharged because it was having trouble keeping the cab cool. They did a freon leak test, saw no leaks, added freon and I was good to go......until the next day. The next day I had zero cooling. I took it back to the mechanic who determined that the freon had leaked out. They used almost a whole can of florescent dye and still could not find the leak. The mechanic told me that most likely the leak was in the dash, and he would not touch the dash that it would need to go to the dealer. The dealer told me it would be $1200. But my dash was so deteriorated that it could not be reinstalled and new one would cost another $1200, but since the labor was being charged to fix the freon leak I would not need to pay labor for installation. Yikes, $2400 just to fix a freon leak. And they told me that there is no guarantee that the compressor would not go out soon, again rendering the A/C system useless. Sigh, I should have bought the Ford. I've owned 3 new Ford cars and NEVER had any problems like this.

I was recently diagnosed with cancer and it took my left eye-sight. I'm a big fan of the Dodge Ram but, I am having issues with the heat, I have NO heat! The heater core and spender doors are bad and I can't afford to fix this problem with all my medical bills. At this time it's not practical for me to drive, I can't even defrost my windshield!!.... I would hate to sell it because I stored it 5 years of the 10 years I had it in the winter. I would be grateful if chrysler could look into this matter bacause I have read a number of complaints. CHRYSLER PLEASE DO SOMETHING!!!!!
