Driving from my brothers house about 15 miles, when the ETC light came on. Lost power, so I pulled over and shut the engine off and whipped out the manual. for a quick ref, After looking at the manual I started the engine and no ETC light was on. started finishing by ride back home when I took a right turn and everything started again this time with an ETC and check engine light. Long story short took it to the dealer, replaced pcm, pedal sensor, and other sensors. and still don't know what problem is. The truck has been in the shop for five weeks and no answers. the truck has no modifications. all original. And dealer has been the only place its been for any repairs except a couple of oil changes. Has anyone else gone through this?

Ram 1500 STX 3.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

Let see 6 months after I purchase the truck July 2012 used with 38,000 miles. I had to replace both left and right lifters at 40,000. They were rattling really bad. At about 61,000 I had to replace. The battery, Alternator and now the water pump is going out, all within 2 weeks period. The engine still loses power and shifts into a high gear around 30 to 40 mph. I keep up with my truck. I service regular. All this just went out at one time. A certified mechanic told me to cut my loses and get rid of the truck. I asked why. He said the truck is a lemon and will continue to lose money if you keep it.

Ram 1500 SXT 4.7L V8

I bought my dodge ram 1500 sxt 4x4 New for the lifetime warranty. I had the vehicle for one year with 20'000 miles on it and the water pump went out, left me stranded on the road. Had to get it towed which dodge did fix that issue. Been a good truck over all now I just went in and had my 5 year inspection DONE and it passed. Two days go by and a God awful noise is coming from the lower end of the engine engine and loss of power. Take it to the dealer and they tell me it's not covered because I had to Ford some water because there was a little mud on the engine and that it had sucked up water and bent something in the engine which is all BS. it has never been any water that deep. maybe a small mud puddle I mean it is a 4x4 plus tell me how all this water got past the air filter. They said to call my insurance company which is a way for them to not fix my engine problem. Last dodge I will ever buy. If any one is wondering I got it from the Pickard dealership dealership in Corbin Corbin KY. I have bought 3 brand new vehicles from there but not anther. Please stay stay away.

As of this complaint, this is about the fourth time this has happened since owning the truck. Only in the past, I had hit a bump and my truck completely shut off. However, this time (October 6, 2012) It shut off pulling into my driveway....no bump....almost hit my mailbox due to loss of power. Don't know what it is. Others have complained....Any solutions? Cause found?

Ram 1500 TRX 4.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 29,000 miles

my truck keeps wanting to shut off and the engine skips. the dealership in Springfield GA said they couldn't detect any problems and I refuse to take it to Hoover in Savannah GA. The reason i took it into Hoover was because of the windshield wiper motor recall that occured. After a three hour wait, I get in my truck, the wipers don't work and the windshield was cracked, and the trim by the windshield was cracked. They refused to take responsibility for the windshield and I had to pay out of pocket for a new one. I took it to Hilton Head to have the trim fixed. I'm going to Hilton Head soon to see if they can tell me what's wrong with the motor.

Ram 1500 Lone Star Edtion 4.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 34,020 miles

I am very upset we bought a new Dodge Ram 1500 in 2008 and have always taken great care of it. I was driving last week on the freeway with my kids in the truck going 65mph when all of the sudden I lost all power no lights came on to warn me there was no warning at all and I couldn't brake or steer hardly at all. So I took it to the dealer because it is still under factory warranty and they said they couldn't find anything. Then it happened again.

I am so frustrated with this truck and do not feel safe driving it at all. We bought it because of it having the lifetime warranty.... but what good is a warranty when the truck is no good? Oh and the thing I liked the most was when I took it in (still under factory warranty) they said I had to pay for a rental car while it was in the shop and they couldn't get to it for at least 3 days (this happened on a Thursday) so I had to rent a car for 5 days!

Ram 1500 SLT 4.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,000 miles

I have a 2008 Ram 1500 4x4, auto, 4.7, with 5000 miles. I have a temperature related problem. When the outside air is over about 75 degrees the truck becomes VERY sluggish. When stepping on the gas the engine makes lots of noise but the truck feels like its being held back.

At cooler temperatures this truck is quiet and accelerates like a sports car. A very big difference from on a hot day. I cannot connect this problem with anything else, it does not matter whether AC is on or off or whether the aux cooling fan is on or off, just outside air temp over 75 degrees and then a really big change in performance.

Dealer changed Cat converter and did all diagnostics, checked with Chrysler hot line. The head service tech drove my truck and agrees it is not 'right', however he now says that since all tests are OK there is nothing else he can do.

Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas to fix it? I cannot drive this truck on a hot day.

Thanks,

Frank
