My name is [xxx] and I've been waiting for this recall to be fixed since I received this recall back in may, and it scares me everyday knowing that I could die driving everyday!! I don't like this at all I have a family always in the car with me. I drive an hour and a half there and an hour and a half back and forth to work everyday. I also live in Florida which is one of the most humid states in the U.S. and it says the problem is more likely to occur in high levels of humidity, well that's exactly what my vehicle experiences everyday!! this may not only kill me and/or my family but others around me if this causes me to lose control of my vehicle!! im really worried even more now than I was before since the NHTSA has made this situation loud and clear and Chrysler has admitted this failure!! I've already thought about getting rid of my truck because I have no idea when this problem will be fixed, I need to know something asap!!! please respond immediately!! information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I took my truck in for an oil change and to have the air bag light that was coming on intermittently. After the diagnoses was done I was informed that the clock spring was broken. I asked what this spring controlled and was informed of a variety of things including the air bag system. I asked if the air bags would deploy if I was to get into an accident and was told no they wouldn't. so I had it repaired at a cost of almost $400. After talking to other people I found out that this was a common problem with a variety of vehicles. I thinking that there should be a look into these clock springs. It sounds like this is a common item that fails.

While driving on a rural road close to home I had to swerve to the left to avoid a deer in the road when I swerved left I instantly impacted a telephone pole and came to a violent stop without the airbag deploying to protect me. I suffered neck, back and hand injuries as well as a severe concussion. I will be forever afraid to drive another Dodge vehicle or any vehicle in which my life is dependent on whether or not my airbag is going to open. The front end of the truck is pushed in to the engine block. Scary very very scary to think that there could be the same incident in the future that could result in death.

Ram 1500

  • 37,000 miles
I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 with 37,000 miles on it. On February 15, 2010 I was involve in a accident where the other vehicle failed to yield and pulled out in front of me causing the accident. My complaint is that I figure the at the point of impact ( which was the front of my 2008 Dodge Ram ) I was traveling about forty five miles an hour and my air bags never deployed, although the air bags did deploy on the other vehicle. I did receive spinal injuries and will know more about that tomorrow 02/19/10 when I meet with the surgeon but in the meantime the insurance company is having my truck repaired and I can't get an answer from anyone of why the airbags did not deploy or if they even will in the event of another accident. This is a scary situation for me due to the fact that it will be my loved ones that will be riding in this potential unsafe vehicle.
