CarComplaints.com Notes: A frustrating electrical issue is causing an ever-present “door ajar” warning light for 2011-2013 Ford Edge owners. Even with the doors latched shut, faulty sensors convince the vehicle’s computer they aren’t. With no way to override the system, owners have no choice but to stare at the warning light, listen to the warning chimes when the car is stopped, and deal with interior lights that won’t shut off.

Three and a half year old car and the power steering pump went out?? Initially it made loud noises and randomly had issues with steering. Had to replace. Was not under warranty.

Didn't crash, but easily could have had an accident if hadn't been just blocks away from a Ford dealer when completely failed. Was steering harder than normal for a few days, made an appointment - they looked at and flushed the power steering fluid (don't recall what that cost), but when I was only a few blocks away and less than a half hour after the appointment steering failed in a parking lot. Had to pull with all my strength to take really wide corners to get back to the dealership where they replaced the entire pump - a $600+ charge

Luckily, covered under extended warranty (pump literally cracked one night and all fluid leaked out by following day), but technician did not think rack and pinion were damaged, so did not replace on original repair. Still didn't steer well after one week after repair...returned to dealer and had to fight to get this repair covered under extended warranty. Warranty company did not want to cover and dealer ended up eating the difference (they say).

Two weeks in shop, going back in forth with warranty company, finance manager, and waiting for the part. Would have been over $2000 without extended warranty... still a pain to have no car for over 2 weeks.
