CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Edge has its fair share of problems, but chief among them is an annoying “door ajar” warning light that won’t shut off even when the door is most definitely closed. While the retina-burning, ever-present false reminder on your dashboard is bad, it points to a deeper problem that can drain the battery, leave the doors unlocked while in motion, or render the key fob useless.

From early on I noticed that this vehicle seems to be in too of a low gear. It feels windy and that it needs to shift. Every time I have had it serviced I mention the problem in which they give me the same reply...no problem found and they could not replicate the problem.

Edge Limited 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

This is a rare, but reoccurring problem. Start the car, back out of the garage, put in Drive and transmission doesn't ship out of low gear when accelerating. Only way I have found to solve is to pull over, turn engine off, then restart and drive away. Could be transmission problem or computer problem, not sure.
