MY 2017 FORD EDGE WITH A 4 CYLINDER 2.0 ECOBOOST ENGINE AND 81,000 MILES NEEDS A NEW ENGINE, AS PER MY LOCAL FORD DEALER. I RECENTLY HAD COOLANT LEAK INTO THE ENGINE THROUGH THE CYLINDERS. ALL PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE WORK, INCLUDING OIL CHANGES, HAVE BEEN DONE WHEN REQUIRED. Daytona beach Automall DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND TOTALLY MY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE THE ENGINE AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $5500. THIS PROBLEM EXISTS WITH FORD ECOBOOST ENGINES ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND FORD HAS BEEN AWARE OF IT FOR YEARS. NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN MADE SINCE MANY OF THESE PROBLEMS OCCUR AFTER THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED AND THEN IT'S THE CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY. FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR PRODUCT WHEN THEY HAVE KNOWN FOR SOME TIME THAT THEY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE.

I received a letter from ford in May that there was a recall on my model ford fusion. I have called my ford dealer 3 times since May and they keep saying they haven't received the parts for this recall. Am I putting my family at risk by driving my vehicle" How much longer can I expect to wait? On may 5th I had front and back rotors replaced because my brakes were making a strange noise when I pressed on them. Is this part of the recall problem? If it is shouldn't I get a refund for the work done" It cost me $667.85 Thank you for your time.

I received a Safety Recall Notice number 20S42/NHTSA Recall 20V-469 in May, 2021. Since then I have been unable to have the problem resolved by Ford Motor Company due to as they say "waiting for parts to be delivered to dealership." Is this acceptable" Where's the urgency due to a safety recall? Can you help" I have contacted the local dealership over 5 times to see when this safety recall can be taken care of. Each time the response is the same. They have no parts and they are on backorder. Required to call back at a later date.First recall notice was received September 2020, Latest recall notice May 2021. Recall has not been completed.

After received a recall notice for 20S42 in May 2021 I have contacted local dealerships weekly and they have continued to tell me that they can't get the parts from Ford. I called Ford today and they tell me that the parts that they originally sent out still have a defect so they are going to be issuing new parts and a NEW recall notice at the end of July. It is ridiculous for it to take this long to resolve something that has been deemed a safety issue. Also, the dealerships do not seem to have this information because all they know is "they can't get the parts". The backorder/issue with parts should have been communicated to the dealerships and vehicle owners.

On May 24, 2021 my brakes failed on my 2017 Ford Edge and it was towed to Baxter Ford in Omaha NE (dealership where I purchased the vehicle). Baxter determined this was due to Safety recall 20S42 / NHTSA recall 20V-469. After repair was made on the front flexible brake lines the car was still not performing correctly and Baxter determined the right rear brake line also needed to replaced. This was not covered under the recall or the warranty. I called my ASE certified mechanic, who has been servicing all of my vehicles for over 10 years, to discuss with them. They told me the front and rear brakes lines are separate from each other, but they have been servicing many Ford vehicles with same rear brake line problem and just had 2 Ford F150's the previous week, one with about the same mileage as my vehicle (61,000). I am diligent with servicing my car for maintenance, oil changes and repair. My vehicle had been in to my mechanic on Feb. 18, 2021 at 57,318 miles and all fluids were also checked and everything was fine. On May 24, 2021 at 61,892 miles my 2 front brake lines and one rear brake all lost their fluid at the same time. Baxter Ford filed a request with Ford to have this covered for repair and it was denied. I contacted Ford to request to have this reviewed and was denied. However, I was told just to hold on to my receipt in case the NHTSA files a recall and would be reimbursed at that time. I have also talked to several other Ford vehicle owners who have experienced the same problem and I think this needs to be reviewed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the front passenger-€™s side brake hose had failed. The hose was replaced and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was later informed that the vehicle was included in the NHTSA campaign number 20V469000 (Service Brakes, Service Brakes, Hydraulic). On my 2017 Edge, the brakes "grab" rather than stopping smoothly. This winter, driving on snow covered roads, you couldn't slow up approaching a stop light without the ABS system coming into play. There was no gentle way of stopping the car. Tapping the brakes is like a "panic" stop with a regular vehicle. Ford has replaced the Brake Booster on 2015-2016 models but not 2017. Refer to TSB# SSM-45857.
