CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007 Ford Escape looks pretty good compared to other Ford Escape model years, but still has a trend of transmission problems, so it's not a model year we can recommend.

Also the base model Escape did not come with side airbags so it received a "Poor" rating from the IIHS for side impact protection. Other similar 2007 models like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V & Hyundai Santa Fe scored far better.

Escape XLT 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,000 miles

Abs Light on. The cause was from the tone ring which is pressed or welded on the the cv axle which came loose and was dangleing on the axle therefore the wheel sensor could not detect the axle moving which sent an alarm to the abs light on the dash. Why at 47,000 miles. Poor workmanship.

Well here we go again, this time the PS "Tone Ring" has cracked. Replaced PS axle with tone ring, speed sensor and axle seal and housing. This is the 2nd tone ring to break, the DS went out 08/13. Again bad design and like last time, $1000 bucks in 4 months on 2 new axles to replace faulty design from FORD

FORD SHOULD RECALL THIS AND FIX IT RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and give me my money back as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Escape V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

Just want to say that this is the worse vehicle I have owned. Brakes at 25,000 miles, Tone ring cracked at 25,000 miles, doors dent if you breath on them, leather interior is paper thin and shows scratches at 15,000 miles, door on console split and cracked.

All doors are showing rust on the inside lower edges.

Brakes and Tone ring 560.00 repair at 25,000 miles. Ford customer service is useless and blows off the problem to the dealer. Totally unrealistic for a car we purchased new. Will never ever buy another Ford product!!!!!!

Truck is for sale. Buying used from now on.
