Rear lift gate or hatch fully opens then immediately and swiftly drops back down to about halfway. This has caused minor injuries by striking me as I approached the rear compartment and the hatch came back down unexpectedly. I have tried all the DIY fixes that I found online. None of them have helped.
While driving my 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid, I heard a rattling noise. I was having a hard time figuring out where it was coming from. Then I heard it again and noticed it was coming from above the sunshade for the sunroof. My sunshade is always closed. When I went to open the sunshade, the sunshade hit the spacer that had fallen off and the sunshade popped off the clips and recoiled into the back roller. The spacer is only held on by 4 pieces of double-sided sticky tape. This is a manufacture defect. This has been a known issue to Ford dealerships. They want $2,700. to fix my car for a sunshade that got knocked off by a spacer that was installed with 4 pieces of double-sided sticky tape. Ford should take responsibility for this and do recalls to fix or repair this problem. Most people will never know about this problem until after it happens and Ford already knows its a problem. Someone should hold them accountable for all the customers that are paying over a $1000. because a 0.15 part failure.
From the day I purchased the car, it has not been able to connect to the Commonwealth of MA's inspection computer system. Ford and the inspection garages i've taken this to said it was a known problem and waived the inspection until Ford remedied their software to make it work. Ford now has a fix, applied via a software update, that remedies the problem but says my car is not part of the list of covered vehicles even though they acknowledge it suffers from the same problem. Ford sent a letter out on Dec 12, 2023 entitled "Customer Satisfaction Program 22N15" which states that they will repair the problem at no cost to the original, or subsequent owners of the car. I've asked Ford to acknowledge that my car should have been included in that program and they refuse to do so, instead, asking me to contact the NTSB. The only way I can have my car inspected now is to use a 'hack' recommended to me by a sympathetic Ford dealership which is to have them turn my car off for an hour after I arrive and then do the inspection. This is clearly a workaround and I want Ford to apply the software fix to my car.

I was driving to work like normal this morning when an error message popped up that stated my All Wheel Drive had been turned off. It then gave another error message stating my hill parking assist had been turned off, and my cruise control is no longer functioning. Due to this I feel unsafe driving. This has happened to many other friends and family members that have owned this vehicle.
Ford had issued a customer satisfaction program recall on 2020 and 2021 Escape doors. On my 2020 escape se the driver side spot welds on the door attachment point are failing. The door no longer opens all the way and causing a loud popping sound when in use. My driver window no longer goes up or down as a result of the loose arm inside the door. My dealership ordered the door replacement back in January and no doors have been shipped by ford and no response is being given to the dealers as to an estimated time of delivery or notice there is a shortage. I contacted Ford Customer Service and was told my case has been escalated for faster resolution at the start of March and to expect a phone call about the case. I have heard nothing from Ford since and my dealer is at a loss of what to do because they have multiple customers in the same situation. I-??m paying $550 a month for this vehicle and I-??m struggling to get into it.
Door Hinge on drivers side door is broken. Making loud popping noises and now cannot roll my window down. Door changes plane when opening or closing and pops loudly. Afraid it is going to fall off
I have a door bracket that has broke. I contacted my Ford Dealer in early September roughly. A door was supposedly ordered. I still have not received a replacement door. I've been in contact with other Ford Escape owners in the same situation. Many go back to August and further back. Ford has not issued any ETA on when our door replacements will be delivered. All contact with my Ford dealer has resulted in "your door is on order, we don't know when it'll arrive". I addition to having a hard to open/close door, I also cannot fully open my drivers window. If I lower the window, it will hit the unsecured bracket that is flopping around inside the door. I'm concerned if I should lower the window, it'll break it. This is a part of this issue. [XXX] Ford has been dragging their feet on issue doors to customers in a timely manner. And yet Ford is continuing to manufacture new Ford Escapes with updated doors. Obviously not allocating any of the doors to repair the broken customer doors. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
We had the car brand new and transmission with two weeks wouldn-??t go in reverse. Then the door was stuck OPEN and we shut it now we can roll the window down FORD says we-??re not covered it-??s a new door!
I had warning lights flashing on my dashboard continuously "parking assist off" "AWD off" "Collison Assist Off" I could not change my car over to snow, ice, or deep snow it all showed not available. This happened 3 or 4 days before I took it back to the dealership. I researched online and found out there were a lot of complaints about the 2020 Ford Escape 2.0 Titanium which is what my car is. I also seen where people were talking about a class action lawsuit due to the low miles on their cars and this happening. My car only has 31,000 miles. I took my car to the shop I had an appointment and they told me the ADM Module was bad. This is the same thing everyone online complained about. This is costing me $1100 to replace. I did not have any AWD traction this was useless. I read that someone said the recall should be expanded. Which tells me there was a recall at one point for this problem.
Receiving multiple errors and Ford determined it is the AWD module that needs to be replaced. However, they say my vehicle is not included in the recall based on vehicle identification number.
The driver's side door is broken. Makes an awful creaking noise when opened or closed. Cannot not roll down the window. Took it to a dealership and they confirmed there is an issue with the doors on this model. They have ordered the part (3 months ago) but it has been on back order so obviously there is an issue.
The sunroof headliner came separated from a component and the entire headliner fell.. hitting my child and not allowing me to visibly see while on the interstate. My entire vision behind me was impacted. I had to pull over and eventually just let the whole shade get stuck on the roller in the back section of the sunroof.
I have 2 recalls on my vehicle and every time I tried to schedule the service I was told that they couldn-??t because the parts were on back order and they didn-??t know when they could get them in. It-??s been 2 years.
I have a vista panoramic sun roof. There is a plastic decorative piece that covers the area between the normal sunroof and the expanded sunroof... That is only held in place with dbl sided tape. that piece came undone and I tried to open the shade and it apparently got caught on this decorative piece. and broke the hade mechanism. This is a completely stupid way of attching the decorative piece and when it loosens can cause major problems with the shade....and ford wants over 2000 dollars to fix it..... I have researched this and notice it happens to alot of these models with this roof shade design....ford needs to recall this design and be willing to fix these problems free of charge.... This is not a owner malfunction but a design flaw. customers should not have to pay to fix it.
