Tried to turn car on engine tried turning on but wouldn't start. Smoke starting coming from engine compartment and came inside through the vents. Ignition wouldn't shut off for several minutes. Car wouldn't start. Killed the battery in the process. Jump the battery car started and now has a loud flapping/banging noise from the engine. During this time rear doors wouldn't open while smoke was entering vehicle through vents. Had to climb over front seats to pull kids out of back seats. Doors would "sealed shut" inside and out. Dealer says it was caused also by the starter. Hard to believe though. Waiting for final repair to be completed. Should be a recall item for this issue. It's a major safety issue with this vehicle.
