Returning to our home in Dripping Springs, TX from a road trip to Venice, FL. Stopped for the night in Biloxi and on day 2 we drove 160 miles to Baton Rouge for a fuel stop. Shortly after leaving Baton Rouge, on 1-10 the vehicle jerked suddenly and a warning light came on indicating that our pre-collision system was not working. We also lost the cruise control function. The wrench warning light was illuminated for the balance or our journey. We contacted Ford Customer Service and opened a case. We contemplated stopping at Ford Dealers along the way but elected to continue driving in order to avoid a prolonged stop. When the vehicle shifted gears, we experienced various levels of performance inconsistencies, all abnormally rough shifting and some loss of power in acceleration.

When we got closer to Austin we contacted our local dealer Lief Johnson Ford and spoke to a Service Manager, who was not much help. He told us there are no loaner or rental cars available and there is at least a week delay for any transmission work. In reviewing the message board, we noticed a dozen or more similar situations with other 2020 Expeditions. We will follow up with the dealer and Ford today. We have another road trip planned for late May and this vehicle in not road worthy at the moment. Thankfully, we have a 60 month, 48K Maintenance Plan.

Update from Apr 15, 2023: Contacted Lief Johnson Ford in Austin and made a rental car reservation from the in-house agency. During our initial discussion with the Service Associate at Leif Johnson, we were quoted a week to ten days for diagnostic feedback. When we called back to confirm the drop off, the Service department told us we would need to leave the car for eight weeks due to a back-up in service for transmission work. Our warranty includes $35 per day rental car reimbursement for up to ten days. The dealer subsidized rental rate is $50 per day. I asked for the Service Manager or GM of the Dealership to call me back.
