The transmission fluid and filter was changed at 41,306 miles. Service department at dealership now reports that the entire transmission needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Ford initially declined to help with the repair cost, and it is now being reconsidered. Has this transmission type been one that has cronic problems?

Told courtesy Ford again that problem restarted, technician checked out again and stated nothing wrong, I am still having my transmission jerk and bang when accelerating and also decelerating

When coasting at highway speeds or accelerating, transmission will hesitate in shifting from 2to3 and 3to4. Has led to nearly being rearended on several occasions. Plaza Ford states nothing is wrong with the vehicle. Also idles hard upon startup and 4X4 does not always engage - dealer also said can't repeat the problem.

Front windshield-the windshield would rattle going down the freeway everytime we would be in the truck. Took it in to advise the dealership and all they did was reseal it. Took it in again the second time and they did the same thing. After the third time I made them put in a new windshield. 2 weeks ago this cracked in half. Also the transmission was slipping. They replaced it with a new one. Also the rear end was leaking.

Vehicle pulls a 5500lbs trailer: Whenever slowing down to make a turn on an incline, shifting from second to first gear, vehicle will shutter and jerk violently.also, rear end virbrates when taking off from a stop. If traveling 70mph and above, entire vehicle shakes. Contacted the dealer, and they can't fix it.

While driving on the highway 60mph there were two cars ahead being towed with no lights on. Consumer didn't see them, and struck them from behind. Neither airbags deployed. Contact dealer for repairs. Parked in front of the trailer, thought the park lever was up, but it was in neutral with hand brakes on vehicle rolled forwards, and hit the trailer, cause airbags to deploy.

Transmission dropped into lower gear & started to severely jerk. Engine revved up to 5,000 rpms. The roads were slippery & wet causing no control of vehicle. Took vehicle to dealership & mechanic could not duplicate problem. The problem is intermittent.

This vehicle has a terrible transmission problem - the 2nd to 3rd shift, and the 3rd to 2nd shift are rough and slowly tear the transmission apart. Mine has been repaired 4 times and is still suffering from poor shifts and undependability. The engine had a very severe knock when first started - the engine was replaced at 14,500 miles with a remanufactured unit. This vehicle has had 2 transmission rebuilds, one transmission replacement and a remanufactured engine and the vehicle only has 14,900 miles on the odometer!

I am on my second rear sliding window and it is leaking also. I am on my second transmission, and there is a clunking or slapping noise when you come to a stop. A Ford engineer says that this is normal or common on all new Ford pickup trucks. I disagree the truck did not make this sound when it was first new. They have tried 3 or 4 times to fix the popping noise in the dash and have not been able to get rid of it.

Whenever vehicle takes off from stop sign or light, it would shift on its own into either 1st/2nd or 3rd gears. Then it would drop back to 1st gear & come to screeching halt. Driver is slammed into windshield when this happens. Its an intermittent problem. At dealership & mechanic can not locate cause of problem.
