After only 3 months of ownership, the truck blew a power steering pump causing me to loose control and hit a curb while on a sharp corner. The dealership told me nothing was wrong with it, but when I questioned their efforts, they then realized something was wrong. At the time, the truck had about 7500 miles on it. At 16000 miles, while driving home one night, I lost all power. The truck would not go about 15 mph and yet no warning lights came on in the dash. With the losing of all the power, the power brakes and power steering became sluggish and was hard to control the truck. I brought the truck in to the dealership and they looked at it, telling me they were not sure what had happened but they were going to replace the throttle body unit. So after another week of being in the shop, I had my truck back. This problem continue to plague the truck as it would rev itself while sitting at a light and the truck would lurch forward toward a car or anything in front of me, however the dealership could never "reproduce the circumstances." For 18,000 miles and 2 more trips to the dealer i dealt with this issue. While still having idling issues, I did the major fluid change at 30,000 miles. While doing so I opened the rear pumpkin as nothing but metal poured out. The spider gears in the differential had ground themselves down to small stubs and were now floating in the fluid. The truck was immediately brought to the dealer and they did the obvious, drive it! After several days of "diagnosing" the problem, work begun to rebuild the rear end. At 32,000 miles, while driving on Interstate 5, the truck lost all power and the same events happened as before. This time however, we went from 75mph to 35mph in the dark with traffic rapidly approaching us from behind so we were then stranded on the side of the road. The only thing we could do was remove the battery leads, and restart the computer in hopes that it would run. We got the truck to run and began to limp 40 more miles to a hotel in which we would stay the night. The following day we had to leave for a medical emergency, in route to the hospital, the truck lost power and function 5 more times before we made it to the hospital. We immediately called the dealer, and after the run around for a few days and several phone calls, we were told just drive it home. No tow truck, no rental, no service, just to try our luck to drive 300 miles home on a sketchy vehicle. With no other options at hand, we were forced to drive home and immediately brought it to the dealer. After several days, they said the truck was fine and no problems were found. However this problem still plague us for several more months until the dealer gave us a black recorder box. Where I press a button, and the box records everything in the truck, this box was supposed to have tons of memory and the ability to read all the parameters. On another lengthy journey, about an hour in, the truck started to act up yet again. This time it did it 8 times within 1 hour. One of the times, the truck accelerated 15 mph from 60 to 75 almost ending in a crash because there was slowing traffic ahead. The only thing i could do was remove the battery leads and restart the computer because the dealer was not open to receive my calls. When I got home, they looked at the information on the recorder finding that it only recorded 2 of the 10 moments that i wanted to record. They replaced the throttle body unit a second time and said all the problems were fixed.

We bought this truck in hopes of having a reliable vehicle that would get us from point a to point b. Being very mechanically inclined, it is understandable that things break. But when something breaks every other month or more than one within 18 months it become aggravating. And the problems mentioned are not even all of them, these are just the major issues that I have had. The service of dealership is poor. Simple as that. They give myself and family the run around trying to do as little as possible without us questioning, but when we do, that is when some action takes place. I recently contacted the corporate office to tell them of the issue and that it needed to be considered under the lemon law. After several weeks of further waiting, we got a THREE sentence response. Summarized it said; "Thank you for contacting Ford. Your vehicle does not qualify. Case Closed." Thats It!!! No apology, understanding, personalization, anything like that. Again i know machines will have problems, but the constant problems and poor service have really changed my opinion of Ford and I honestly do regret buying from them, let alone considering them the be American quality. I would really reconsider any purchase you are thinking of making with them, because i will never own another ford again. Period!
