I have a 2013 F-150 ecoboost. I was driving about 50 mph last night, 12/3/18 when it suddenly downshifted, causing the rear brakes to lock and tires squealed. I lurched forward in the seat. The speedometer went down and then back up to 50. It lasted all but seconds. I was able to drive home. I have left it in the garage since it is unsafe to drive at this point until I can get it to the garage. Thankfully the road was dry otherwise I would have skidded out of control. I have about 110,000 miles on the truck. This has not happened before. The past few weeks however it has occasionally not shifted out of 1st or has started in 5th gear. This has been sporadic only. Occasionally, when I start off, it will lurch forward. The vehicle has been maintained and has generally been a very good performing vehicle.

Engine would crank but not start. The wrench emblem appeared on my instrument panel computer. The Ford dealer said it was the fuse for the fuel pump had actually gotten hot and melted. It seem this is a very common problem with this vehicle. It was sitting in my garage, and would not start.

The fuel management system blew the fuse. I looked online and saw where many people have had this happen and Ford has a service advisory issued for this problem but charge the owner with making the correction to the defective wiring. They do not simply replace the MINI10 amp fuse but instead replace a part of the wiring and relocate it to a standard 20 amp fuse. When I explained my concern about engineering a fuel management system for a 10 amp rating and switching it to the 20 amp which could allow other parts of the system to overload he basically told me that Ford had decided this was how they would fix the problem but now I have the concern other components of the system failing and sure enough it was less than two weeks later the fuel pump driver module failed causing my vehicle to stop running. The service manager also told me I was lucky as he had seen total melt downs of fuse panels from this defect. This has cost me $805 in repairs due to a faulty wiring design. The vehicle was stationary at the time, once in a parking lot and once in my driveway.

Vehicle power suddenly shutdown while driving down the freeway. After pulling to the side of the road, engine would only idle. Engine would not rev up to a higher rpms. Vehicle required towing to a repair center. The following 2 issues were found: 1. throttle body needed replaced. 2. fuel pump electrical circuit was heat damaged. The repair center told me they are starting to see more of these type of issues on these vehicles. The repair center moved this circuit away from the heat source causing the damage. This appears to be a design issue which could pose a safety problem. A recall should be issued for this problem.

Vehicle experiences hard downshift from higher to lower gears while driving at highway speeds on interstate highway, causing rear wheels to skid and vehicle to jerk. Vehicle looses power with RPM indicator on dash showing engine revving at or above 1,500 to 2,500 rpms while driving on local roads and streets. When starting from a stopped position the engine rpms will climb to 1,500 to 2,000 and the vehicle will no move. The wrench indicator has come on 3 times but goes off if vehicle is shut off and restarted. Additionally, the vehicle electronic control system does not store any codes to indicate the vehicle has experienced any problems. Have taken vehicle to local Ford dealer on 4 occasions only to be informed that no codes were present and vehicle did not act up while in their possession. Also informed by dealer that unless code is displayed during diagnostic test Ford motor will not pay for repairs unless code is displayed.

Engine stalls out periodically. Very dangerous in heavy traffic. This happens every time while in motion not sitting still. This is the eco boast 6 cylinder engine. Has been numerous reports with others but Ford still won't issue a recall on these engines. It has 89350 miles on it. I'm going to change the plugs & boots this weekend but I'm sure that will not solve my problem. Ford is being stubborn on recalls. Hopefully no one gets hurt in these vehicles before they issue the recall. Thanks NHTSA.

Driving in traffic Friday of the long memorial day weekend, traveling at 75mph, no warning my F150 stalls. Finally get pulled all the way to the shoulder. After sitting for an hour and getting help, it was found that the fuse for the fuel relay had melted. 50 cent part could have caused a deadly crash! why is there not a recall on this? mechanic that worked on my F150 said this is about the 12th one he had worked on. I also see that Ford has issued a tsb on this exact same problem.

While driving to work today, and making a right hand turn, my vehicle completely shut off. That is, the engine died, the power steering died, and the brakes died while the truck came to a complete stop in the middle of the lane. Let me reiterate - the truck completely died in the middle of the road and there was a complete loss of control over the vehicle. Had there been another vehicle, object, or person in front of me, I would have likely collided with them (thankfully the road was empty) research has lead me to find that this is a known issue with Ford and the F150 series from years 2010 to approximately 2014. Fuse number 27 in the engine fuse box is undersized from the factory and melts due to the inability to handle the amperage. I found mine melted after today as well. Ford has "addressed" this issue with a tsb (Ford tsb-15-0137 see attached) which it charges customers for to replace the fuse and wiring for the fuse with a new, up sized fuse and wires. They do not cover this free of charge unless your truck is under warranty. As this is a glaring safety issue that numerous people have reported, I ask that the NHTSA investigate this and have Ford initiate a recall on the affected vehicles, and make the repair free of charge to customers. This issue is a manufacturing flaw and one that has the ability to cause loss of life and property due to failure to control the vehicle. Some forums where people have reported the same issue: www.fordraptorforum.com/F39/engine-cut-off-low-oil-pressure-warning-11894/index16.html www.fordraptorforum.com/F39/Ford-raptor-fuel-pump-fuse-issue-45129/index37.html https://www.F150forum.com/F12/engine-shots-off-while-driving-402848/ www.F150ecoboost.net/forum/31-F150-ecoboost-problems/26113-engine-randomly-died-while-driving.html

Started about 1 1/2 months ago, while driving at speed, vehicle felt like it shifted into neutral. Did not happen again til the next week. Then was taking off at a light and it had no pick up. Took into shop, no codes in computer, topped off transmission fluid. $97. Following week went to pass a vehicle and the truck lost power and started to shake, engine light flashing. Brought back to shop. Still no code, but they changed spark plugs and fuel system flush. $440. Was driving down the road RPM up to 3000, would not change if I pressed on gas or not, transmission shifting from 1-3 in random order. Felt like brakes were locking up. Driving 50 mph, RPM to 5000, speedometer from 50 to zero back to 50, brakes lock up. Pulled over, shut off truck, restarted no problem. Took to dealer I bought from, no codes could not help. Took to Ford dealer, said transmission lead frame needs repair $900, and main rear seal leaking badly. Never was I low on oil or had an oil spot. Looked up online several hundred of same vehicle with the same issues. No recall. Ford said nothing they could do because warranty is up and it is not their problem now.

With a hard acceleration the truck blogged down & the engine service light came on. I thought the engine shut off so I pulled it down into 1st gear & it took off again. Still sputters like there is water in the gas or something. Light will not go off. Pretty dangerous in heavy traffic. It actually didn't have any power what so ever. Pretty scary. I read there were several complaints of the same situation. Why has Ford taken care of this as a recall?

Takata recall, my timeline on 01/12/2018 I took my 2013 to Goodyear to get 100,000 miles service. I had cooling system flush, rear differential drain and refill, transmission fuild exchange and replace platinum spark plugs at time of service odm was at 10205. On Saturday 01/13 transmission shift was not smooth, I took tuck back to Goodyear. I was told that all checked out good, but another quart of transmission fluid was added. I drove truck on local street and on highway no trouble. On Tuesday 01/15 when I left home running errands truck took hard shift. I took truck to Goodyear, I was told that technician drove truck no trouble found. On Wednesday 01/17 I left house two times. First time out no trouble. Second time out I went out on my way back home truck hard shift several times. Then there was a sound like a buzz saw. Both trips where to the same location less than 4 miles round trip. On Thursday 01/18 I called Goodyear spoke with original service manager told him of trouble I wanted him to take a ride with me. We did he felt hard shift in transmission and heard buzz saw noise even dough sound was faint. He suggested and gave me a coupon for a free diagnostic test at aamco. I took truck to aamco on Thursday 01/18 left truck over night. I picked up truck on Friday 01/19, aamco found no trouble. On my way home truck was performing like it was before I took truck to Goodyear. I was feeling good again about my truck then there was a unsmouth shift. Several miles later a loud buzz saw sound. This is Saturday morning I am going back to Goodyear and see what should be my next move. Again I had no trouble with truck before I went to Goodyear. If I had transmission trouble I wouldn't have gone to Goodyear to have it fixed.
