Three year old Ford F-150 Lariat. We live in northern Manitoba and we now have NO heat. We bought this truck used, with 20,000 kms on it. It now has 40,000 kms. We bought Premium Extended Warranty....which we NOW find out doesn't most things. The Ford dealership here quoted us $2500 to fix this problem - the heat core alone will cost $592! GRRRRR, I've heard of SO SO many Fords with this same problem.

F-150 Platinum 5.0 V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 28,000 miles

I have a 2015 F-150 Platinum 5.0L, a few weeks ago I noticed there was a burning smell coming from the a/c vents. I park my truck in the driveway and there's an oak tree next to it, so I thought some debris had got inside where the air supply comes in. I changed the cabin filter as it was filthy so I thought that was the problem, but it didn't have any large debris in there. It did help initially, and after that we had a cold snap in TX so I didn't use the a/c. Went to turn it back again a few days later, cause our winters don't last long, and there was that burning smell again with a noise coming form the compressor.

My truck has only 29,000 miles on it, but it's only a few months out of warranty. How can a compressor out on a $60k truck go out so soon??!! Parts alone will be $600.00 from my local dealer, not counting labor!!!

I feel I shouldn't have to be putting up with this issue with so little mileage on an expensive truck that only sees light traffic and light use.

F-150 Lariat 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 37,118 miles

Just beyond 36,000 mile factory warranty and my AC goes out with our first heat wave of the year. Dealer checked into and said that my high side AC Manifold line (Evap shut off suction line) blew, part # FL3z19867G. Part is only $45., but dealer wants $675.00 to fix. Why the heck would a return hose blow out so soon??? Then of course the dealer wants to rape you with $600 in labor costs for a 1.5 hour job. Son of a you know what.... Not ford tough.

After last fix for possessed vehicle, I put 800 miles on the truck. First thing that happened was a message that there was a trailer connected... no trailer. Next I got messages that "Blind Spot" system had an error and that there was a "Cross Traffic System Fault". When parking at the store my driver side running board would not deploy. I went in to system settings and found the running boards set to "Off" (not sure how that happened, but being possessed is strange). Set them to "Auto" and they worked. Worked fine when I got back in space shuttle. Drove across the street to grocery. Still getting messages about Blind Spot & Cross Traffic Systems. Went shopping and when I returned all the systems that had gone out back on April 26th, 2017. Features that did not function included • Running Boards • Airbag(s) warning light on dash was lit • Climate Control System, both Heat and Cooling • Front Windows • Seat Comfort functions • Mirror adjustment and retraction • Back-up System and warnings • Cross Traffic System • Blind Spot Warning Currently waiting for loaner to be available from dealership. This is the same set of issues that I paid $1200 to have fixed and Ford Customer Care denied my claim for since I was 271 miles out of warranty.
