Brakes were hanging up and squeal when going in reverse and sometimes forward.Took to the dealer but couldn't find any thing wrong. They wanted to sell me a brake maintenance package for $100....Idiots!

I have taken this truck in for the same issue since I purchased the truck at Jim Hudson Ford in Columbia, SC. Except for one time at Ford City in Champaign, I have been told that there are no issues. Ford City told me the first time I told them that the plate was out of alignment but that did not help the issue. I also do not believe that was the real problem. The last time I took it to Ford City they told me there was nothing wrong with the brakes but there is something wrong. The brakes make a dragging sound. The challenge is that is it intermittent but it happens WAY TOO MUCH to say that nothing is wrong. If they cannot find out what is really going on I will go to an attorney. This is nonsense.

This is my 14th Ford truck. I love this truck I just do not like trying to get something fixed when no one wants to listen to me. They charged me $120 for a computer fix related to the engine effectiveness. The notice went out several months before they fixed it in my truck. Just plain poor service from a Ford dealer. Sorry. The same is true for this issue. There is either something wrong with the brakes or the computer is telling the truck to brake when I am not touching the brake. All of these miles are highway miles and I have never abused or crashed the truck. I just want it fixed so I don't worry about brake failure. Enough is Enough

Update from Apr 21, 2018: This challenge was not the brakes. The challenge was a component that changes the two-wheel to four-wheel drive. This has been acting up since I bought the truck. I have complained about this issue since I purchased the truck. I thought is was the brakes because of the "dragging" sound. When I asked why the dealership did not catch the real problem, I received this response, "You told us it sounded like the brakes." I am not a mechanic and I find this extremely difficult to accept as an answer. I call it incompetence or at the least a clear understanding about who is the customer and who is NOT. I will be contacting Ford directly to log my personal complaint. This repair needed to be covered by Ford and not through an extended warranty. It is ABOUT service and nothing more. I do not know if this will fix the issue to replace the component but if NOT this will get a lot more of my attention.
