My new 2018 F150 XLT includes the towing package. I expected to add a trailer brake controller later. I asked the dealer to quote the part and service ($326). Fine.... took it in for installation.
The dealer service was unable to install. There is apparently an incompatibility with the controller and the electrical system which they claim will require a junction box replacement/upgrade.
I am waiting to hear back from the dealer after they talk to Ford for clarification and how to install the junction box (if that is what they claim).
