My Tailgate randomly opens while driving down the road. Several times, tools have slid out the back of the truck bed. This is a hazard to the trailing vehicles and costs me money in losses. Ford has a recall, but people are still experiencing the same issue. Ford will do nothing to guarantee the tailgate is fixed.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the tailgate was unlatched independently. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that he had experienced the failure on three different occasions. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer confirmed that the failure was a known issue. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
Tailgate opens on own even while driving. No warning that it has or is open. At highway speed the tailgate has opened allowing bed contents to spill out!
