Affected Component: POWER TRAIN

Summary
Some 2021 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2C23 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This concern may occur in temperatures at or below freezing. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 303-3E, Pinpoint Test D for the appropriate diagnostic steps. If a root cause cannot be identified, clear the DTC and inform customers that Ford is developing a calibration update that is expected in February. Let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle until an appointment can be scheduled for repair. Contact the customer and schedule a service appointment when the update is available. Monitor OASIS for updates.
