Some 2021 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost, 3.3L or a 5.0L engine may experience an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P2096 and/or P2098 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to various software parameters within the PCM and/or a faulty catalyst monitor sensor. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the PCM.
