The rear fuel-tank strap rusted and broke away, leaving the fuel tank suspended mostly by the fuel lines. A recall was issued for most trucks for this problem, but mine was not included in the recall. A call to Ford did not yield a solution. They did not offer any assistance on getting the strap replaced. The dealership quoted $300 for parts and labor, but the problem can be fixed in your driveway for about $30 in cost in parts.
