My truck has the Death Wobble. It has been worked on for the incident It happened again yesterday at least 4 times within 30 minutes We turned around and came are parked the truck. Am going to talk to the Dealer where I Purchase the vehicle and want some answers and to fix this major problem with my Ford Superduty 250 2017

I just researched the violent shake of my front end that almost caused me to hit the vehicle next to me. I was driving about 60 mph and drove over a bump on the road and my steering wheel started to shake uncontrollable. I immediately stomped on the brakes to slow down as fast as I could. I was driving in the fast lane and slowed to about 20 mph before the shake stopped. I was lucky not to hit the vehicle next to me since the truck went right of center. The vehicle behind me almost rear ended me since I slowed down so quickly like you were giving someone a brake check behind you. I have owned this 2017 F250 less than a month. If I knew about the death wobble I would have never purchased this vehicle. I am now seriously concerned to drive this truck and now I can not allow my 17 yr old son drive it if needed. I can't believe there are over 1,200 complaints for the same issue and Ford has not done anything about the problem. This is my 6th Ford truck but first F250 and my last. I will most likely go to GMC or Dodge for a 2500 series truck. I travel for work and this problem really worries me to drive at 70/75 miles per hour on the freeway. I believe at the higher speeds it is a good chance loss of control will happen if the death wobble occurs. These trucks cost a lot of money and no one should ever have to drive a unsafe vehicle. If I could join the joint law suit against Ford I would. Maybe another group of F250 & F350 owners can start a class action suit as well against Ford. It will be a very sad day when we all find out a death has occurred and could have been prevented with a recall. If you google death wobble you will not purchase a F250 or F350. I really hope Ford takes care of this since I really like the look of the truck.

Death wobble, truck violently shakes and I loose control of steering at all speeds especially at 50 mph or more. I can correct if I turn steering wheel slightly however this is very dangerous on the highway

I was traveling on a highway doing approximately 70 mph (speed limit). When I hit a bridge expansion joint the truck started violently vibrating to the point I was losing control of the vehicle. I rapidly decelerated and the violent shaking stopped after I slowed the vehicle to approximately 25 mph. The shaking was so violent I was seconds away from veering off the road into the trees. There is a technical bulletin from Ford about this issue, but it is not a recall. Someone is likely going to die for what is obviously a design and/or manufacturing defect. The technical bulletin from Ford on this issue is: Tsb# 18- 2268. Nthis needs to be a recall.

On 1/21/2020 I was driving highway speeds on SH225, went under BW8, and the truck began shaking uncontrollably. It felt as if the entire truck was going to shake apart. I was almost in a wreck because the truck would not stop shaking and the steering was impacted. The dash, mirrors, seats, and literally everything on and in the truck was violently vibrating and shaking. Had to reduce speed to about 30mph and the shake finally subsided, after multiple cars could tell something was wrong as well - and they were seeing this happen from outside the truck! this has happened previously, to a lesser extent in December which caught me off guard and the issue subsided quicker than this time. Not sure what the issue is but it is extremely dangerous and could have seriously injured me or other drivers due to a loss of control of the vehicle. I have dropped my truck off at mac haik Ford in pasadena, tx. It is still under warranty - about 25K miles on the truck.

I am experiencing the death wobble in my truck. Driving typically above 60 mph, if I drive over a bridge expansion joint or if there are ripples or continuous bumps in the highway, I will lose control of my truck in a sever shaking. The only way I have doing found to fix it is to slow down, turn the vehicle off and continue driving.

At steady speeds of 45 mph and over the front end of the truck will violently shake after travelling over a pothole, or expansion joint, or other imperfection in the pavement surface. Ford is aware of this. This condition has come to be known as death wobble. The steering wheel will shake in my hands and becomes very anxiety provoking and eliminates my confidence that I can control the truck. The only cure once this condition starts is to slow down to the point that the steering wheel shake smooths out. I bought this truck new, and this condition has existed since day one. Ford claims there is no fix. This is unacceptable in any vehicle at any price.

My father was driving the truck at highway speeds and all of a sudden the truck started shaking violently, it was very unstable. We have taken it to the dealership many times but the shaking is still there and it occurs at lower than highway speeds now.

Driving on interstate at 75mph when my truck passed over small bump in road the truck started shaking uncontrollably, causing my truck to enter lane next to me. My wife and two kids were passengers when this happened and they were terrified especially since we almost crashed with the semi I had passed prior to the bump. The shaking finally stopped once my truck reached a speed of approximately 40mph. This happened earlier on same trip, however, I didn't think as much about it because I was going slower and it didn't last as long. The 2nd time made us feel our lives were in danger so we drove 10mph below posted speed limit to be on the safe side.

'death wobble' it started when my truck was a little over a year old at 24,000 miles. I was driving down the highway at approximately 60 mph, hit a bump in the road, and the vehicle started shaking violently and was uncontrollable. The steering wheel was shaking to the point where I couldn't grab it. The truck was all over the road. I slammed on the brakes and it quite shaking once I got down to about 25-30 mph. I have since learned this is a common issue, which scares me. Someone is going to get hurt. You cannot imagine it until you've experienced it. I've had my truck at the dealership twice and they have worked on it under warranty. The problem persists. I'm not one to complain, and I have been a huge fan of Ford vehicles my whole life, but this is a severe safety issue. There are several youtube videos to give you an idea what it looks like.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-250. While driving 75 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle as it experienced the death wobble and shook violently. Also, the vehicle accelerated on its own. The contact and his wife had no control as the vehicle sped through three lanes. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was taken to jim click Ford (6244 E 22nd St, tucson, AZ 85711, (877) 777-9263) where it was diagnosed that a steering damper needed to be installed. The vehicle was repaired. While the contact and his family were taking a road trip, the repair failed within hours. The vehicle accelerated in traffic and experienced the death wobble. The vehicle was repaired three times. The vehicle needed a shim installed because the original shim detached from the vehicle's body. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 3,000.
