F-350 Super Duty Commercial Flatbed 6.2L Gas

Barts Car Store Columbia City Indiana sold Me this Ford F-350 Super Duty Flatbed commercial truck with a gold standard warranty. As we drove the vehicle & examined it everything seemed fine & with the warranty I felt confident with the purchase. When I arrived home from over a 2 hr ride I noticed the vehicle was making a tapping sound. I took it to Andy Garner a certified Master Mechanic who diagnosed the truck as having bad exhaust manifold gaskets. I called Barts to complain & they asked Me to bring it in. Since I work that wasn't a immediate action. Upon arrival Barts said the sale is final & I can not return the vehicle. They did offer a repair solution which was to use the warranty. The warranty that sold Me the vehicle.

The same warranty I can't use bc they sold Me a warranty that doesn't cover a commercial vehicle. So basically I bought a truck with no warranty with the illusion that it had a warranty. Once that was established the owner of Barts assured Me he'd make it right with the warranty once I got a diagnosis from a dealership. Don Hinds Ford did a diagnostic check & determined the exhaust manifold gaskets are blown out. Presenting this information to Barts they refused to fix the issue. Now they're limited 30 day warranty is expired. I need to know how I can return this vehicle that is stifling My business.

F-350 Lariat 6.7L

  • Automatic transmission

I took Ford truck to dealership in Hanford, California on November 10, 2015, and talked to Dave, in the service dept. He said it was normal for the computer to tell the truck to clean the exhaust 3 times in 10 miles! How much DEF do I have to put in to clean exhaust at that rate??? I drove it about 100 miles after leaving the dealership before it cleaned exhaust again. I am concerned that the computer may be malfunctioning occasionally and those computers would be very expensive to replace after my warranty expires. Dave checked for recalls and told me there were no recalls for my vin number. On Nov. 09, 2015, the day the exhaust cleaned 3 times it was cloudy with occasional sprinkling. Air was clean for a change, not dusty as usual. My brother in Texas had to have his DEF tank replaced last week at a whopping $530.00. He has a 2012 Chevrolet truck. No computer problem on his Chevy, that he knows of. I'm seriously thinking for trading my diesel in for a gasoline model!! I paid a lot of money for the diesel and expected better. My 2004 diesel Chevrolet truck was great and had no DEF to worry about.
