I have been a true loyal Ford owner for my entire life - I had an 86 Ford pick up that also did this, and that nobody could ever correct. I have had it at the dealership twice for them to look at it before it even had 5000 miles on it, and they told me it must be the way I'm driving it.

It's completely unacceptable when you pay 70 something $1000 for a truck.

I have talked several of my friends out of buying a Ford because of this issue.

Update from Aug 26, 2019: Today on our way from AZ to Utah, the truck went into death wobble 4 times. 2 times we did not even hit a slight bump in the road, it just changed lanes from right to left lane.

First time experiencing the "death wobble" - which I had never heard about. I have always known that 3/4 ton + trucks bounce around, especially when hitting potholes or crossing train tracks at speed - if I really cared, I'd drive a 1/2 ton, which smooths all the bumps out. However, this was different - the truck began to bounce all over the place at 65 mph on a fairly smooth road, with only some minor bumps, and I immediately slowed down. It scared the crap out of my wife - and I assumed it was just "one of those random events".

It happened again a week later (yes, wife in the truck again) and I found out I'm not the only one. I had to slow down in traffic, which was almost as bad as the wobble - couldn't see anything obvious loose or worn (hey, it's just a year old!). Now I'll get it into the dealership and see what they say. I no longer want to drive it at highway speeds, and I'm hyper alert for those bumpy, bounces I used to just think was due to driving a truck with a stiff suspension.

While driving at 70 mph on a local causeway, I hit a bump in the seam of the roadway. At this point, the truck's steering wheel began to shake violently and the front end felt as if it was going to come apart. I had to reduce my speed down and pull onto the shoulder until I slowed to 5 mph. I was not sure I could control the vehicle until I slowed my speed. It did take a lot of strength to hold the steering wheel straight.

Now I'm learning this is a common problem with this year of truck and extremely disappointed Ford has not placed a recall to this date. I have been a loyal Ford customer my entire driving life and wish I did not sell my 2001 F350. I plan to take this to a Ford dealer the next business day for a repair. This should not occur in any new vehicle.

I was driving on a narrow lane in a construction area. At the time. I ran across a couple rough spots on the highway, (I-40) and the front end started to shimmy really bad like scary lane changing kind of shimmy.

There was an upcoming car to my left that would have got hit if they were 20 feet more ahead. After I hit the brakes and reduced speed to 40 or so, the shaking quit.

I am a class 8 truck mechanic for 35 years and have only experienced this two other times in my life. I think we found tire issues with those back in the day?

This unit has only 5200 miles on it and no other shakes till this happened. SERIOUSLY, I would have been in an accident if that other vehicle would have been next to me due to the concrete barriers.

While my wife was driving home from our sons football game on the interstate, she went across a bridge at interstate speeds, and the truck began to violently shake causing her to swerve and almost leave the roadway. She quickly slowed down and stopped on the shoulder. After inspecting the truck she slowing started to re-enter the freeway, terrified of what just happened and continued the trek home from Gillette to Sheridan. If this would have been a less experienced driver, like our son, this could have resulted in a serious accident.

I bought this truck new 2019 Ford F350. I never pulled trailer or abused truck, but had steering problem at 5000 miles. It has been to Ford shop 4 times to fix problem, but it only gets worse. It has done death wobble over 7 times. If you hit a bump in the road and front end is all over the place. Steering wheel shakes out of control and you have to stop the truck for it to quit. I've had Fords my whole life - and this one will be my last. Dealers are not helpful at all - but they sure want to sell you a new truck though.

I don't drive the truck very far is very unsafe the truck has 28000 miles on it now, steering is deadly, doors rattle, and suspension is horrible on the truck I compare it to an amish buggy.

I have had multiple incidents with this truck's steering. After taking it to Coggin Ford in Jacksonville for a scheduled service, the tech forgot to tighten the front right lug nuts all the way. Needless to say, they tires almost fell off on the way home. I had to drive it back slowly for .5 mile. The fixed it and said nothing was wrong.

A month later, I had to replace the Steering Dampener for a wobble. I've had a death wobble a few times since then, Now, my trucks steering is starting to whine and feel tight.

Driving my newly purchased, but used with 23,000 miles, Ford F350 XLT on a highway today, I was going the speed limit at 55MPH. I hit a small 1" patch of asphalt that was newly laid by the highway department and as I hit it and came off my truck steering entered the death wobble. I own 2 other Ford trucks. One of which is a 1992 Ford F350. I had the same thing happen when I purchased it but the bearings were bad.

I have read that Ford knows of this problem with their 2019 model F350s.

WTH IS FORD THINKING? This is not acceptable and I will call the Ford dealer and seek a solution. I will not allow my family to ride with me in this vehicle until it is fixed. I will update the problem later. Beware Ford F250 and 350 owners - THIS IS A DEADLY SITUATION FOR A HEAVY TRUCK ON A HIGHWAY. PEOPLE WILL BE KILLED IF IT THIS HAPPENS AT 70MPH!!!
