CarComplaints.com Notes: The Freestar was introduced in 2004, but it was essentially just a rebranded Windstar. While there was a redesign of the interior and exterior, the Freestar still inherited some of the design flaws of its predecessor.

I just gotten my van, love it but about 1 month after i bought it, there was a noise under the hood. took it into a body shop and they said it was the cooling system. they had to replace the whole thing because a blade was hitting something and leaving metal shavings everywhere in side the hood. got it replaced 500.00, winter was ahead so there was no need for air.. winter passed and still no air for the summer had no more money to have it look at so we suffered and sucked up the heat last summer 2016. but winter is almost over again and if i could get some help to figure out the problem or anyone how has has similar problems with theirs.

Second time since owning this van in only 2 years that AC has stopped working. Paid $800 last summer to have AC fixed which worked until this summer when we actually needing AC. It suddenly stopped working today when I had my 3 small children loaded into the van. I felt bad for them being in a hot van with no way to let any air in at all in the back.
