CarComplaints.com Notes: The Freestar was introduced in 2004, but it was essentially just a rebranded Windstar. While there was a redesign of the interior and exterior, the Freestar still inherited some of the design flaws of its predecessor.

Calipers rusted, brake lines broke while driving losing brake fluid, lost most braking power but fortunately did not get into an accident. They had to replace all calipers and brake lines as well as the rotors since the calipers had damaged them.
