CarComplaints.com Notes: The Freestar was introduced in 2004, but it was essentially just a rebranded Windstar. While there was a redesign of the interior and exterior, the Freestar still inherited some of the design flaws of its predecessor.

Excessive front brake noise. Sometimes accompanied by a grinding noise. I can not begin to describe how loud this is. It is not even near the level of normal brake squealing. Dealership reports that nothing is wrong with the braking system. There has got to be some type of defect in the workmanship of this braking system and the manufacturer should be held accountable. This has been on going since purchase of vehicle.
