2006 Ford Fusion: Two safety issues 1. the dashboard on the passenger side near the air bag is warped/bulged. The air bag indicator flashes on every once in awhile. I am concerned the air bag will deploy causing harm. This is a major safety concern. 2. complaint: Cracking and popping in my front suspension when turning or going over bumps. About two years ago I took my car to a Ford dealership and they stated there was a technical service bulletin and a "sub frame assembly kit" needed installed. Ford wouldn't cover the repairs but I bargained they ended up covering the cost of the part and I paid labor. Problem seemed to stop for awhile but is now back. My concern is if the subframe breaks it will cause an accident. I drive 25 miles to work Monday thru Friday, 90% is highway.

I have a 2006 Fusion this problem started a year ago. First my car shakes, when driven 20mph and try to accelerate it has a hard time picking up speed it misses. So I had my spark plugs changed twice in the last year because I thought that's what was wrong. I took it to my local good year and they noticed that I've had my spark plugs changed with them twice so, the mechanic took my car apart and found that my 5th cylinder was bad and that it was burning through my coils. 2 years ago I had issues with my balls joints on my car front tires fixed it now, I am having the same problem my ball joints have clay in them how that happen I don't know. There is also a 3rd problem that I am having with my transmission. I came across this website to see if there were any recalls for my vehicle, of course it would be my luck nothing!!! I work for Toyota and they recall their vehicles all the time for any issue they have with their vehicles. I will never buy a Ford again!!!

The contact owns a 2006 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and going over bumps, a loud noise was heard in the front end. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. After diagnosis, they advised him that the welds were fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was later contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000. The current mileage was approximately 101,000. The VIN was unavailable.

06 Ford Fusion. I have been having a cracking sound in the front right suspension, took it in to Ford to get tires done, they found that my front subframe welds have cracked and it would cost 1500 to fix with a used part, the complaint is, when I came home and researched this issue, I have found tons and tons of complaint with this same issue, it appears to be a failure of Ford to have a correct weld placed in this area, I believe we need to have this investigated and looked at, the subframe weld that has broke is where the front lower control arm hatches to the frame, with this busted and poorly welded we are looking at suspension coming apart and creating an accident and deaths I am asking for a recall to be made.

The vehicle has a noise that is similar to a strut that is lose, that started out as slight noise and has subsequently gotten louder. The Fusion has a V-6 and is now out of warranty and was purchased new; the problem has existed for years with no dealer having a solution to the problem. That noise has been investigated by two separate Ford dealers, (one where we purchased the vehicle) the other an independent Ford dealer I purchased an Explorer from. Neither could find the cause of the sound. It occurs over bumps sometimes and sometimes over smooth pavement. One mechanic from a Goodyear repair dealer heard and thought it was the sway then; tighten it, but the sound still exist. The sound is only heard on the passenger side.
