September 2018 at 75382 miles front left break hose ruptured causing complete break failure in June 2019 at 84143 miles right side break hose failure, causing complete break failure. Each time was the same I pulled out of a parking spot pulled up to the exit and while holding foot on break peddle went to floor and had no breaks. Car had to be towed to dealership for repairs. Both instances car lost all break fluid. I asked for the hose the second time this happened hose is ruptured.

Within 3 weeks exact same issue again on interstate. Brakes nearly useless to bring car to a stop, loss of power. Had to have vehicle towed to get it home. Called to question warranty on Ford vacuum pump - informed vacuum pump is on "national backorder" and can't even be given an approximate date as to when a new part will be available. Maybe it's time for a recall"?"

The vehicle was currently being repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact may pay out of pocket, but would be reimbursed by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 68,000.

I've had my vehicle since October 2015, my vehicle takes to long to stop while driving. The distance between car can be far but car still won't stop. I have had 2 accidents in this vehicle because of this. It's like the car is glides and you have to put excessive force on brake to get vehicle to stop. You can also be completely stopped at a light and the car will lightly glide but to the point U don't notice the car is moving. The 1st accident the airbag deployed I wasn't even doing 2 mph. I was sitting in traffic with foot on brake and car glided. Miles at time was less than 50,000.

Parking brake came on without being touched by the driver. Locked the rear wheels. Very dangerous. Vehicle was traveling at low speed on a Suburban street, while driving in a straight line. After the event, took the vehicle to the Ford dealership, where we have all the service work done. Ford found no error codes in computer and could not replicate the problem on test drives, and as a result said they could not fix the car. If this happened on a highway or in heavy traffic this vehicle defect could result in fatalities. Ford needs to address this.

My ABS, power steering, traction control, rear view assist, airbag light all went off at the same time. I live in Michigan, so there is salt on the road during the winter. It seems there is a Ford recall 15S14 that seems to address this but the dealership refused to fix stating that there is no recall for my Fusion. This is a safety issue as the loss of power steering is extremely dangerous in the winter. I am concerned for my safety. I am disturbed at Ford and the dealerships response to this safety issue.

I was driving the car into my driveway. It is a shared driveway for a townhouse set. I had my foot on the brake as I pulled in. I was going slowly in the drive way. I turned the wheel to park the car. I had the brake firmly depressed. The car did not stop. I ended up slowly going into the garage door. I had the brake pressed down. My foot was not on the gas. My foot is also not wide enough to have pushed both down at the same time. The only way I could stop was to put the car into park. It came to a jerking stop, but did not continue the forward motion.

Vacuum pump failed without any warning. This caused loss of power brakes. Nearly crashed at intersection as I was forced to go through a red light because of the loss of brakes. Upon disassembly of vacuum pump I found that the driver for the vacuum pump was broken off in the camshaft and the pump was seized. This is a major safety issue I believe that if my wife or daughter had been driving we would have surely wrecked. Also I think Ford will avoid this issue based in the high cost of repairs. Removing the broken piece from the camshaft amounted to major engine repair. The car wash as at the repair shop several weeks.

I was trying to slow down on a street going towards grand avenue to make a stop, when my brakes would not slow down. I looked down to see why they weren't working and when I looked back up I was out into the street and got hit on the drivers side by a cement truck. I was put at fault and my vehicle was totaled. Now our insurance is going to rise significantly and I have an accident on my record even when it was not intentionally my fault.

Brakes failed when operating the vehicle. I reverse and the brakes went completely soft. It was difficult to completely stop the vehicle, at lower speeds, but I managed to do so with no damage done to the exterior of the car. I drove my 2014 Ford Fusion AWD a few feet to park the car making it easier for towing to the river town Ford's dealership. I saw smoke on the right side of the car coming from the wheel area. I turned off the vehicle to assure no further damage to the brakes and rotors. I press the brakes, while the car was off, and notice brake pressure was back. I confirm it was still unsafe by restarting the car and then a low brake fluid indicator came on and all brake feel went limp to a point that pushing the paddle all the way to the floor board did not engage the brakes, E-brakes I suppose was being used at this point. The next day I get a call from the dealer telling me that the car needed a new brake hose and copper washer on the front right side of the car; the initial cost was 203, then with each phone call, because I wanted part numbers to check cost of parts, the price went to 340 dollars for a brake hose and a copper wash replacement on right caliper, by the way the extended warranty didn't cover this cost so no accommodations for a rental and all cost fell on me the customer because of vague extended warranty information. They also told me that the brake hose was not tampered with it just disconnected/popped out from too much pressure. This happens at 37800 plus miles after the warranty dies out and close to the mandatory 40K dealership inspection service. In the end I paid $289.66 after pulling teeth with the clerks, who answered the phones, and also calling the manufacture for information about fordpart.com website and coverage. Suggest a further testing of this brake failure. Ford should have covered this cost not me for their faulty parts.

The first time I drove this car on less than one inch of snow, it slid through turn. I was driving West on hwy 30 at around 40 M.P.H., slowed and entered turning lane to turn North onto hwy 21. When I brake, car slid so I applied brakes a little firmer. The ABS were active and making the bing-bing-bing noise they make, but car slid through northbound lane, stopping finally with car over yellow center line of southbound hwy 21 traffic. Thank god there was no car sitting at the intersection, because I would have hit their driver's side. I have had zimmerman Ford in cedar rapids, ia look at my brakes twice now, with no resolution. I even replaced tires after this event and had one of their servicemen tell me they had the same issue with his Fusion. He too, replaced the tires, which had no effect. The brakes grab with force whenever they get moisture on them, from rain, dew, or snow. The dealer has been made aware of this issue, but don't care. I feel I am going to die in this car and am scared to death to drive it in another Iowa winter, but have no choice. The traction control sucks also, the car spins on wet grass or rainy intersections, and even shallow mud puddles. I feel the brakes and traction control on these Fusion require investigation before someone loses their life from these issues. Thank you

2014 Ford Fusion titanium 2.0 turbo 5/29/16 coming off freeway @ 70mph went to apply brakes and pedal was hard, unable to slow down on loop. I could have crashed and died due to this failure. Finally pushed pedal with a lot of effort and ABS kicked in to slow me down before the stop sign. Took to dealer on 5/30/16, diagnosis was vacuum pump failure, new part was ordered. 7/5/16 got a call from dealer shop manager who basically said the part would not be covered under warranty because there were metal shavings in the motor behind where the pump sits, claiming dirty oil caused premature engine wear. I went to the dealership to view what he was talking about. I could tell by spinning the pump that the bearings had failed, more than likely disintegrated and the shavings were sitting inside my engine. The manager asked the mechanic if that were possible and he replied yes. He said he replaced 3 recently with the same issue metal shavings behind pump. My car was also in for an oil change. The most irritating thing was being blamed for the problem, he stated my engine will fail and I should trade it in while I was talking on the phone with him prior to going to the dealership. I was blamed and he used scare tactics to try and get me to make a purchase. Never had this happen at a Ford dealer before. Still waiting for the call saying my car is repaired. The manger agreed to replace the pump under warranty

I drive a 2014 Ford Fusion SE with a 1.6L ecoboost and a 6 spd manual transmission. It had approximately 40,500 miles at the time of the incident. Upon reaching a speed of 35-40 mph while accelerating (I shift at 2500 RPM's) I heard two chimes similar to the chimes the car makes when I start it. Once the chimes finished sounding my instrument panel went black except for the needles which all came to a rest into the "off" position". they still remained lit. I had no dashboard lights. My car lost power at the same time and the steering became slightly harder than normal. There was a very small amount of throttle response and then no response. I was able to coast onto a side street where the car completely went dead by the time I came to a stop. Before coming to a stop my brake pedal pushed down easier than normal. At some point before coming to a stop my check engine light came on and then went off once the car died. After staying stopped for a few seconds I restarted the car and continued driving with no issues since. When the car lost power and died there was no stuttering or stalling. The car shut itself off very smoothly. The next day I took the car to my local Ford dealer and they promptly looked at it. After conducting a computer diagnostic check I was informed that there had been a, 'throttle body incident'. I was also informed that it appeared that the air filter had not been properly seated into its housing when changed at the 30K mile maintenance interval. They conducted further pinpointing and located particles inside the throttle body which they cleaned off. The dealer updated the PCM and conducted a satisfactory road test. Since the incident I have put several hundred miles onto the car with no issues. I was fortunate this occurred on a road with light traffic and while not traveling at highway speed.
