2017 Ford Fusion Ex with the 2.0L Ecoboost engine. Check Engine Light came on (around 85,000 miles on the car - Jan 2023). Car is misfiring. Ford dealership diagnosed the issue as Coolant leaking into the engine block (which is causing the misfire). Dealership said to immediately stop driving the car due to coolant issue could overheat the engine (possible fire risk). Research on internet shows this is a widely reporting defect where coolant is leaking into the engine block. Fix is to install an entire new engine. Ford unwilling to admit defect due to extreme cost of having to replace engines. Cost of new engine installation is $7000 plus. Having a defective engine block that allows coolant to leak into the cylinders is a clear defect with multiple people having the same issue. I understand there was the same issue with another version of the Ecoboost engine on the fusion and a recall was done for that. A recall needs to be initiated for the 2.0L Ecoboost engine on the 2017 Fusions have the same serious coolant leaking into he engine block issue. Car being brought to Akins Ford in Winder GA for repairs on 03/31/23.

The car would not start due to the throttlebody failed to operate. Luckily, the car was parked when this occured and had to be towed to nearest Ford dealer. Who informed me if I had been driving and it had failed during operation, car would have come to a dead stop while driving and/or in my case failed to start. They said throttlebody gives the engine the air it needs to preform. We were out of town and due to drive on a main highway for two hundred miles at 70miles per hour! I have included invoices from the Ford dealer, invoice from auto dealer- who had repairs done on car, and the carfax report-that did not show any throttlebody recalls or repairs, nor did the auto dealer's report. The car was certified for 21,953 miles by the state of Florida and carfax. How is that a car's throttlebody would fail after 21,000 miles, unless it was already defective in the beginning!?? the reports indicate the vehicle was a 1 owner car and 21,953 miles with passing thru two systems and never detected. I had only owed the car for 61 days under 24,000 miles when it failed!

I had both a check engine light and wrench power train light come on. My vehicle was emitting white smoke from the exhaust and a sloshing water sound in my dash behind the steering wheel. My car has 96,000 miles on it and is serviced regularly. I had it at the dealership in Dec 2022 for an oil change and they didn-??t indicate any issues. By Jan 2023 my car needs a new engine.

On July 21, 2022 I was driving my 2017 Ford Fusion I was driving on route 95 when my car started to over rev and began shaking, then I lost complete engine power. I nearly getting ran off the road from the cars behind me. Thank goodness I was in the right-hand lane when this incident happened. I had my 2017 Ford Fusion towed to Purvis Ford service center in Fredericksburg Virginia. The tech called me letting me know that my torque converter has failed and needs to be fixed. The cost was going to be $6,250 plus $200 diagnosis fee. I was made aware of the recall on the Fusions torque converter failure. I was told my Vin number isn't a part of the recall. I believe my car needs to be a part of this recall everything stated in the recall description my vehicle had done. What do I need to do to continue to get my vin number on this national recall.

2017 Ford Fusion with only 60k+ miles on it is having engine issues. Coolant leaks into the engine, resulting in a cylinder misfire which can cause an accident and significant engine damage-€"I now need a whole new engine. I am not the only Ford Fusion owner having this problem-€"numerous complaints have been made about this same issue. A recall should be issued as it is a defect caused by the manufacturer and the burden to repair or replace should not fall on the owner.

My 2017 Ford Fusion, with 58,228 miles on it has a bad engine, which is a known issue, yet not a recall. My engine overheated as I was driving on the expressway. I called Ford, case # CAS040244200, but my powertrain warranty expired 7/22. Please read what has happened to others while their engine overheats while driving a 2017 Ford Fusion when coolant gets into the cylinder (in my case it's cylinder #3). Also Ford was aware of this issue...TSB# 19-2208, but has yet to place a recall

Engine coolant leaking into cylinder #3. Check engine light on and code says engine misfire. Coolant very low and if I had not caught it would have eventually blown up the engine possibility causing a catastrophic accident. After research and talking to the dealer this is a very common problem in the Ford EcoBoost 1.5 and 2.0 engines with as little as 10,000 miles! White smoke pours out of the exhaust on startup each morning with the smell of burnt coolant in the air.

Vehicle started making noises from the gas cap like vacuum noises. After refueling, car seem like it was having problems starting. After letting it sit for a couple minutes at the gas station, the car cranked but started putting like it wanted to turn off. Got to a red light and car suddenly turned off. Message shown on dash : Auto StartStop disabled. Manual Start Required. Car still wouldn-€™t crank. Got a scanner hooked up to the car and it said Evap Purge Solenoid Valve. There were recalls on this type of problem but not the same engine size. This could have caused a fatal accident had traffic been moving.

All right, so I have a little bit of bad news for you, so we hooked up a code reader to the car. And there were a couple of misfires. So there's a cylinder to misfire a cylinder or a random misfire detected, a cylinder 3, misfire a cylinder one misfire. So our service advisor thinks that it's probably not an issue with a coolant. An issue with the head gasket, and he would recommend that that gets replaced. And he said, at some point, you might need to replace the entire engine.
