My girlfriend and I bought thist truck brand new to avoid having vehicles break down because of he last vehicle we had. We only had it 3 weeks of the lot when it broke. the truck never was off the pavement or abused. We drove it to work and back and thats it. The day before the clutch went we drove from Victoria to Merritt, wich is about a 5.5 hour drive encluding the ferry ride off the island. The truck was runnin great untill I went to shift for 3rd into 4th. When I pushed the clutch down i could feel it bump twice and then it was gone. I gimped it back to where we were staying and called Ford. They sent a towtruck to drag it to Kamloops the dealer there. The next day I was informed that I had to go down and look at it before they did anthing to it because they were not going to cover it under my extended warranty. They claimed that it was driver abuse that caused it to let go. All I could do is laugh because like i said it had never been off road. they showed me the pressure plate, which had be broken in 3 places, at 12, 5, and 7 oclock. the clutch plate itself was about half worn out and the flywheel needed to be turned. After a heated argument Ford agreed to pay for the clutch but we had to pay for the labour, which was $736.00. The dealer sent the clutch and pressure plate away to see if it could be covered under warenty. This was 4 months ago and they still haven't told us if they accepted it as warranty work, they wont even accept my phone calls. I think that it is absolutely ridiculous that they would even fight me on this seing as though it was a 3 week old truck.
