I bought this car and it is already screwed up within a month. the transmission had probably been replaced twice already, judging from the kms on the car, but it will go from first to second with a slip, and then a jerking clunk into second, same when downshifting. When full throttled, the tranny will loudly clunk, the jerk again down a gear and, when in overdrive, something FRIES from under the hood, smells burning and smoke from under the hood. Love the car, but i have to sell it. With all the problems it has, i cant afford to fix it.

Taurus GL 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 170,000 miles

First, the transmission shifted way to slow/slipped. I fixed that with a transmission fluid and filter replace. Now sometimes it shifts very hard. Sometimes it won't shift down into first. Sometimes it won't shift into third. It makes a very nasty stench when running.
