The contact owns a 2007 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, there was a sudden increase in engine rpms as the vehicle began to roll backwards. The contact mentioned that the engine stalled numerous times while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who inspected the vehicle and determine that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 124,000.
Vehicle transmission has hesitation, shaking problem and rubbing noises at 35-40 mph. Possible failure on the road was admitted by Ford service department. Vehicle was diagnosed with the problem at last service but couldn't be fixed because parts are not available. This is my sole means of transportation but I was told it may be many months before it can be fixed. Meanwhile it is a safety issue as breakdown on the road may cause accident. Updated 12/17/13
Updated notice from previous complaint. Since 12/26/08 to 12/16/08 2007 Ford Taurus has been returned to the Ford dealership for engine failures 5 times. Each time dealership is unable to locate the problem and fix the engine.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that her vehicle stalls, jerks, and shifts hard intermittently while driving between 30-40 mph. She took the vehicle to the dealer three times (April 21, 2008, May 3, 2008, and May 7,2008) for the same failure, but they could not determine the cause. The failure also occurred once when the dealer had it in the service center for inspection. The failure mileage was 30,300 and current mileage was 30,500. Updated 06/03/08. The vehicle would also stall when trying to take off from a stop. Updated. 05/30/08
