2008 Ford Taurus SEL Sedan - FWD - 3.5v6 - Titanium Green Metallic

interior weatherstripping torn runs around kickplate to roof

If you get in your car sit in the drivers seat and look down at the kick plate.

There is weather stripping that runs around the inside of the car to the roof line. ( not on the door, on the body of the car)

This weather stripping that mates up against the plastic of the car i notice HAS SHRUNK and in some areas torn. THE CAR WAS 4 YEARS OLD! When i bought it. I got it from a family member who takes immaculate care of their vehicles.

I called the Ford Dealer and they want $150 for the piece.

I am going to see what i can do to replace it. Not happy.

Update from Oct 7, 2014: I had heard they may be a TSB / Recall on the 2008 Ford Taurus for the weather stripping.

And that some customers are getting a notice. I have supplied my VIN # to this website.

Unfortunately I called my dealer and they told me there was no recall notice. A guy i know who works there told me later he said Ford may have only selected a batch of customers just to say hay we did it and keep people happy.

Unfortunately he said as you own a 2008 in the eyes of the Ford. Motor Co. You are not a valued customer as you drive a 2008. So if they haven't put you in that batch of initial VIN #'s on the first recall...there likely won't be one.

So $152 before tax is the part for the driver side. The dealer is the only one that has the part. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.
