UNCOMFORTABLE SEATS: Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Complaints aren't limited to only a certain body type -- the seat comfort problems are from a wide spectrum of owner height & weight. The common theme we hear is "we never noticed this during the test drive." Unfortunately for unwary buyers, the seat pain is noticeable after 15-20 minutes.
XM sat-radio intermittently cuts out. Symptoms; the volume begins to rapidly oscillate between static and voice for a short period of time and then goes silent on all stations, except for station 0, where it continues to exhibit the symptom described here. During this event everything else continues to work e.g. AM/FM & CD. Problem clears when engine is powered off and then on. Problem began as very intermittent once in first 10 months but now has become chronic, occurring almost weekly.
About four times in the last week, my XM radio started cutting out. It would start to cycle between static, then fine, static, then fine and do this 5 or 6 times over a 10 second period then completely shut off. It would come back on when I shut the car off and re-started it. Not practical/safe while driving. I had to wait until I was stopped at a traffic light to do this. I will be calling Honda to have this checked
I noticed over the winter that the XM Radio in my 2009 Accord Cpe would cut out occasionally. I started trying to keep track of the conditions at the time it cuts out. It seems to happen more on Snowy days, when it rains or when I have dew on my car. I thought maybe there was moister problem, but it happened again this week when it I was windy out. I haven't contacted Honda yet about the problem, I doubt anything will be fixed. If the problems keeps up or gets worse I will just cancel my XM subscription and not listen to it anymore.
I have talked to my dealer as well as called the corporate office about this problem. They have been aware of it for a couple of years, but the dealer said he was instructed by Honda not to fix the problem, they will let them know when they have a fix. Judging by all the complaints on the internet, Honda has known about this problem for some time and they don't seem to be in any hurry to find a solution. I hate paying for XM radio that is continually cutting out on me. The only way to restore it is to turn off the car and restart it. Not a viable solution when you're driving down the highway.
