Starter Problems. Car was slow to crank/start. Thought it was the battery. Had the battery and alternator checked and they are good. It was diagnosed as a bad starter. More than $1,000 to replace. In more than 40 years of driving, I-??ve never had to replace a starter. Especially in a 3 year old car. A quick check of the internet says this is a common problem, unique with series of Honda-??s. This quick developing problem can leave you stranded. Bad design. Honda should cover their design flaws.
This morning on my drive to work my car started locking and unlocking by itself and when I got out of my car and locked it the lights did not flash when it was being locked or beep like its supposed to. My car still locks but it seems like an electrical issue is going on.
All indicators that came on at the same time on the dashboard. 1. Brake system indicator 2. Vehicle stability(vsa) 3. Safety support system 4. ABS Anti-lock brake system 5. System message 6. Locks locking and unlocking while the car was in motion 7. Failure to disengage the electronic parking brake 8. Car wouldn-??t start at all While on the freeway locks started acting up locking and unlocking by themselves, got off the freeway and turn the car off to see if that would fix the issue. It didn-??t fix the problem! Tried turning on the car and had a hard time starting the car than the parking brake didn-??t disengage and all the warning lights listed above came on and the car had no power. Very dangerous I do not want to be statistic killed by my own car. If I take it to the dealer they will charge me a lot of money to diagnose and find nothing like always. I have no money to throw away like that. I have a family and I don-??t want to die due to my car malfunctioning on the freeway or street loosing power like it did.very concerned at this point!
On 3 separate occasions my Honda Accord 1.5T has lost power while driving in traffic. All of the warning lights came on, and I could not go over 10 mph. Fortunately i was able to turn onto a side street each time. I turned off the the engine and after a few minutes restarted...only once was I able to regain power and drive home with normal power. My car went to the dealership each time, and they have told me they cannot duplicate the issue. And now the dealership has had my vehicle for almost 2 months. The service agent said he has never seen anything like it, and when I mentioned specific articles about the turbocharged 1.5 engine online, he discounted them saying, "anyone can write stuff on the internet". Honda dealership and Honda Corporate has no solutions, other than just live with it. A car slowing down in heavy traffic or on the expressway is a major accident waiting to happen, and Honda doesn't seem to care.
All the systems in the Picture failed.. I noticed my reading lamps don't work and middle brake light stays on dim when these warning lightscome on.... and the car loses power on the road It will slow down like its braking and won't accelerate. if there is ever a tractor trailer behind me I'm afraid it will hit me... when shutting down the car and restart within 30-50miles warnings lights come back on..
2018 Honda Accord had been parked for less than an hour while shopping. On return, entered car, put foot on brake and pushed the start button, immediate back pressure on brake pedal, audio warning of electrical system failure, messages on dash of electrical brake system failure (reason for this report), etc. Car would not start. Called dealer and they said to bring it in, there was nothing they could advise over the phone. Had the car towed to the dealer. Once there, first thing I was asked was whether the person who towed the car had attempted to jump start it. He had not. Service person said problem source was probably the battery which they said was drained, claimed there were electrical systems in the car that could drain the battery when the car was off, something I had never heard of before and I am still skeptical about. Car remained at dealer for a day and a half running diagnostics, etc. and they could find nothing wrong, even the battery, once recharged, was deemed good. Wife is now worried about driving the car and what might happen if the brake system failed. After researching 2018 Honda Accord electrical system problems online, I no longer have confidence in the vehicle's safety/reliability. Too many reports with no problem source determination nor resolution which is the category I'm sure this one is going to be added to.
I left my purse in the car and went in to pick up puppy. The car doors had self locked with my purse and keys inside the car. I have reported to the dealership and Honda of America. No response from HOA. I am concerned that someone might have a child or dog in the car and thinking that they are just going in house for a minute would come back to the car and find the doors locked. My phone was also in the car. It took 45 minutes for me to find someone, use their phone to make a call, and have someone bring the spare key. That is a long time for a child or animal to be locked in a car.
I have had issues with my rear brakes for a long time. I have changed my rear brakes twice since I had the car. Today all my warning lights in the dashboard turned on and won't turn off. I have no clue as to what's going on. Also the rear taillights had a broken seal where moisture collects in the taillights. The brakes in this car was the worst I have ever experienced. The car vibrates while braking and there is a vibration in the brake pedal as well despite having recently changed the brakes. The warning lights are a new problem and a complete electrical failure. The current mileage is 62,000 miles.
