THE OFFICIAL HONDA WEBSITE STATES THAT ONCE YOU HAVE USED THE CANISTER YOU NEED TO RETURN IT TO A DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY WILL DISPOSE OF IT AND SELL YOU A NEW ONE.
ONLY PROBLEM IS THEY HAVE NO SUCH ITEM, EVEN WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP OR CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY ARE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE NUMBER NEEDED TO PURCHASE SUCH ITEM. THEY CAN SELL THE WHOLE COMPRESSOR KIT FOR $143
You would think that the sales rep for Honda would mention that there is no spare tire. Oh, he didn't. And neither did the service manager because he argued with me on the phone and wondered why I didn't put the spare on when I got a flat that blew out the sidewall of the tire.
Well, is it bad luck or a problem with Michelin tires when a sidewall blows on a tire at 2500 miles on the highway and another blows at 6000 miles.
But, hey that isn't the real kicker here. Without a spare you must call road side assistance and get towed to the nearest Honda dealership. The first time it was Saturday evening. Guess what I was stranded. of course they aren't open on Sunday. So now I call Monday and guess what they don't have a tire. They will call when they find one. How ridiculous is this. A dealership sells a car with no spare and then when you need a tire they don't even stock it.
The second time this happened I was on the interstate and the tire blew and I was lucky to keep it on the road. So, stranded again. I wait 1 1/2 hours for the tow truck and then the dealership doesn't give me any special treatment. I have to wait until they get someone free to put a new tire on my car and get me back on the road. This is crazy. This is not a car I can let my wife drive on a trip. She can change a tire but she can't always be near a tow truck or Honda dealer. Had I know this up front I would never have bought this car.
This lack of disclosure on the part of the sales person and the dealership is grounds for a lawsuit don't you think.
