This problem concerns the automatic child safety door lock function. Approximately three months ago, the door locks began to malfunction and continuously lock and unlock themselves whenever the car reached 9 or 10 miles per hour. When the car reaches this speed while either accelerating or slowing down, the locks either lock themselves or unlock themselves depending on their previous position. I drive in los angeles traffic, so this is a constant problem and I cannot afford to fix it at $200+ per door. These automatic locks (particularly the rear seat ones) are supposed to function to prevent a child or other passenger from accidentally opening a door when the car is in motion. They are also supposed to function to keep an intruder from being able to open the door from outside the car while the car is temporarily stopped. This is a terrible safety hazard for all children riding in the rear seat of the car, but it could also be dangerous for adults who might grab the handle to stabilize themselves around turns. If they were to accidentally hang on to the door handle, it could open the door while the car is in motion. It is apparently a recurring problem on the 2006, 2007 and 2008 models of the CR-V according to the Honda forum on edmunds.com. There needs to be a recall issued because of the safety issues concerned with this problem. I am currently afraid to let my grandchildren ride in my car.

Door actuator unlocks and locks at will. Right front door actuator replaced 10/6/11, right rear door actuator replaced 6/6/12, now left rear door actuator failing. This is a safety hazard as the door will unlock as you drive.

The car doors are permanently locked. When I parked, the driver door locked and could not be unlocked- neither by remote nor manually. (usually the car automatically unlocks when in park). I climbed out the passenger door and clicked the lock button on the remote. About an hour later I tried to unlock the car from the outside and none of the doors unlocked. Only the driver door has a keyhole and inserting the key did not unlock the car. I tried using my spare keys but nothing worked. I am locked out of the car.

The first incident was on or about October 15, 2012. I always park my car in the garage. So, I rarely lock the car door. When I came back to the car to get groceries out, the car doors were locked. I came back to the car with the remote to unlock the doors. I got some of the groceries out and was carrying them up stairs, when I heard the door lock sound. When I came back to the car for the rest of the groceries, the doors were locked again. I had to retrieve the remote from the house, to unlock the car doors again. There has been intermitten occurences when I have found the doors locked when I return to the car. I have notice these occurences happen when I am at home because that is the only time I leave the car unlocked inside a locked garage. My most recent occurence happened last Friday, April 19, 2013. I had pulled into the garage. This time I locked the car by mistake with the door lock located directly under the window (not on the rocker panel). I unlocked the car with the remote. Within less than a minute the car locked by itself. This time I had not gone immediately upstairs. I was still standing there.

On March 13th my son and I was getting ready to leave our home to run an errand and he could not open the back door. I use the unlock feature on my keys and it still would not unlock. I thought the child lock had been set. For the next couple of days I tried to get the door unlock and I could not and I notice that my truck would not open either. I was headed out of town, so I went by the Honda dealership and the want to charge me $120 just run a check to see what the problem was. I called around and another company said they would run a check for $50. Before they could do anything they tried to unlock it and stated that I may need to go to a body shop and they would have to remove the panels. By this time I was frustrated and the money was adding up for repairs. I decide to take the car to get it clean and one of the employee was able to get my car unlock just by working with the locks. I gave him a nice tip for saving me a lot of money. This morning I am driving on the express way heading in to work and I started hearing a noise. I was driving beside a large truck and I thought the truck was pitching rock or gravel. I looked over my shoulder and notice my back locks were unlock. I tried to lock them from the front and they was the noise I was hearing..locking and unlocking. I called the dealership while driving down the express way and they said it my car was not on the recall listed and I will have to bring the car in to be checked out.

The first problem uncovered: The driver's door cannot be manually unlocked with a key. My daughter drove the car to a concert using the valet key and discovered at midnight that she couldn't enter the car. After family arrived with electronic key it was determined that it would not manually open the door either. Following that incident we noticed the driver's door will randomly re-lock itself after the ignition is turned off and the door has initially unlocked. The locking system sometimes makes a "whirring" when engaged. The latest development: The passenger side rear door and the hatch refused to unlock using either the electronic key or the driver door controls. Also, the rear passenger door couldn't be opened manually using the button on the door itself- it wouldn't budge! the next day, the problem fixed itself... at least for now.

Right rear door and hatch would not unlock either manually or through the power locking system. Dealer determined that this was the result of faulty actuators and forced me to pay over $600 to have them replaced. This is a known error as there are other reported cases of this happening. It was also a safety issue as passengers could have been trapped in the car.

My right back door doesn't lock anymore. When I lock it slowly unlocks itself on its own. So a while it would remain locked if I locked by key fogger but now it doesn't lock at all. It appears to lock but eventually unlocks itself. It would appear to lock but while driving unlocks itself. Very dangerous for small kids in back. I took to Honda and it is $400 to get fixed. Plus they have to order parts so I have to pay for a rental until parts come in. If I could manually lock door that is different issue but it unlocks itself even manually. Honda needs to recall this to be fixed as it is major safety concern.

Left passenger door lock when lock or unlocked makes a loud grinding noise. Front drivers door will not unlock with manual key. I have seen many reports of same on this website. I believe this is a major issue that needs addressed by Honda. Honda has no service recalls, but it looks like they did in 2006 ?

My left back door doesn't lock anymore. When I lock it slowly unlocks itself on its own. So a while it would remain locked if I locked by key fogger but now it doesn't lock at all. It appears to lock but eventually unlocks itself. I have 2 small kids sitting in backseat. I have set my car to lock once I drive 15mph. It would appear to lock but while driving unlocks itself. I have had no wrecks in this vehicle. This is supposed to be a family vehicle and the door eventually unlocks itself while driving. Very dangerous for small kids in back. My son realized his door wasn't locked and tried to manually lock it which eventually it unlocked itself again. I took to Honda and it is $400 to get fixed. Plus they have to order parts so I have to pay for a rental until parts come in. If I could manually lock door that is different issue but it unlocks itself even manually. The door actuator went out first on my passenger front door and automatically locks now every time I stop the actuators cycles on all 4 doors and tries to relock. This is very annoying and also I like to add please don't waste your money on the black chrome rims mine are peeling solid chrome is not supposed to peel so that was $3000 wasted.

The door locks keep locking and unlocking while I drive. I got locked into the car once, the car door would not open with key or manually. I had to crawl into back seat in order to open door and get out. The doors will not stay locked while I drive. This is very dangerous. When I'm stopped at a signal anyone could jump into the car. The door won't always lock when I get out of the car. Someone got into the car and went through my glove box because the car wouldn't lock. I feel Honda should have a recall and fix the door locks. I have seen quite a few complaints on the internet with others who have the same problem.

The power locks on the doors keep unlocking themselves while driving. It has potentially unlocked while driving even though the lock has been placed. Manually unlocking or locking doors is not an option as the lock seems to unlock by itself. Very dangerous to use with children even if the safety lock is placed the doors continue to unlock by themselves.
