The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. while driving 35 mph, the vehicle made a rattling noise from the engine. In addition the contact noticed a burning odor coming from the engine. The contact pulled onto the shoulder, opened the hood, and noticed smoke coming from the air conditioner compressor. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the air conditioner compressor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.
2008 Honda CRV. Consumer states while in reverse, there is a grinding noise coming from the right front wheel. The dealer determined that an engine mount stud was broken, a side mount was distorted and the A/C compressor pulley was touching the engine beam which resulted in sparks and/or an electrical problem. The A/C matter appeared to be associated with the engine having shifted some from the broken stud and distorted side mount.
