I am experiencing something that Honda ADMITTED HAVING PROBLEMS.!! Albeit they are only singling the 17' through 18' models of the CRVs .. and then the 1.5L engines for the 19" (probably also the 20.. and only on several few states mostly North of the USA.
I have, after only 20" oil usage, after last 2 month old oil change,' probably 1 qt of gasoline mixed with the oil.. and a rattle coming from the lifters?.. at only 58,850 miles old.. that should not happen!..On a phone call to Honda San Jose Capitol Hwy.. The service department technician come on with "I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THAT PROBLEM///"? when I told him that Honda was admitting problems with the 17 onward he said.. "HAA THOSE! YES BUT NEVER A CRV MODEL 2016 .. and only in cold weather states!.. I said " they are all with the same engine and the 16 introduced the high pressure gasoline pumps backing up the pump at the gasoline tank and that created the problem!..
He said "there never was a problem with those pumps!".. I added " THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH THE PUMPS IF NOT WITH THE INSUFFICIENT PISTONS" RINGS THAT ARE ALLOWING GASOLINE PENETRATION TO THE CRANKCASE" . so he added.." never heard of deficient pistons rings"..
So, Tomorrow I will go to Honda San Jose to talk to the service manager and put the car in the waiting list for Honda recall.
Shame of you Honda!.. (give the CEO a raise in his oily parachute)
