I contacted Honda about my car and they diagnosed it for $230. They sent an electronic file indicating the problems plus items that need future attention (tires) and items that passed and a diagram with the red, yellow and green boxes checked. Honda quoted me $5,250! My car is currently at the dealer and I've been calling for quotes from independent auto repair shops, plus contacted Honda corporate. This is my first Honda so they may not cover anything and I intend on fighting that decision. I was always a loyal Toyota customer and I switched as they just got more costly and Honda worked with me.
I've mentioned many other things I do not like about the car such as the automatic braking and on your forum I now see the numerous complaint about this. I also knew the engine idle stop was a bullshit feature and I see many complaints about that feature as well. The staff at Honda simply dismissed me when I mentioned almost getting rear ended numerous times as my car decided to brake harder than I was already braking, or hit the brakes for shadows, going uphill with no obstructions or obstacles in sight, andd while going under a bridge and when I returned to the open air and sunshine my car hit the brakes again.
I now remember more often to turn that feature off, but sometimes I do forget. I've even mentioned how terrible that feature is to my insurance company as they think it's worthy of a discount and I've read some insurance companies may deny claims related to the automated features being turned off if there's an accident claim. This is quite scary and I'd give anything to go back to a car without these features.
